“Pacquiao will definitely win. Pacquiao is just too tough and too strong. Pressure and a lot of punches just beats Floyd up,” said trainer Nacho Beristain

    Beristain picks Pacquiao

“Not only will I break the fight down for you, I will give you a prediction. Now, I could be wrong, but then again, I could be right. The first 5 or 6 rounds, it’s going to be a back and forth fight because of Pacquiao’s aggression. But Pacquiao is not the best defensive fighter. Mayweather is going to sharp shoot, and not only is Mayweather going to fight back when he needs to, but after that 6th round, it’s done. I believe the second half of these 12 rounds gonna be target practice for Floyd. And it’s going to be a situation where, is he putting a show on just so people can get their monies worth or is it just that easy. That’s my bold statement and I stick by it, now let’s wait 8 to 9 weeks and see what happens,” affirmed Bernard Hopkins.

Didn't Beristain recently say Pacquiao has a 45% chance?

Nacho is a smart trainer and he has seen Pacquiao up close several times. There is a reason he give Pac a chance, he knows Pacquiao really well. Even though JMM beat Pac last time, Nacho wants no part of Pacquiao anymore, he was unhappy with the punishment JMM was receiving before he got that KO. Nacho also faced Mayweather by the way but i think he understands styles make fights and after facing both, he isn't quite sure floyd has much of an edge.

Robert Garcia is another one that has faced Pac and Floyd, twice each. He has repeatedly said that it's close, gives Mayweather edge but he used to say Pacquiao had the edge before.

Nacho gave pacman a 45% chance to win.

I'm no math wizard, but that doesn't sound like he's picking pacman to beat him.

Very interesting that you mention that. Pacmans own trainer believes Mayweather wouldve probably beat him 5 years ago but now feels manny will beat him because he has more "heart" than Floyd. Out of roach's mouth, pretty much verbatim .

Freddie Roach doesn't sound too confident for a change. I don't remember him ever being like this.

Freddie is the master of mind games... I think his angle is to get Floyd to be more confident about opening up, being more willing to trade - basically less running and pot shotting. No one really believes Floyd's legs are gone, but Freddie refuses to back off from this point, perhaps in an attempt to convince Floyd of that.

Great idea by roach. Try to bait a master boxer into trading in the pocket for long periods of time by giving him a false sense of confidence pre fight. If you really think that, than I don't know what to tell you.

Do you honestly think his rudimentary mind games are going to work with a guy who has almost 50 pro fights and is fighting in his 25th title fight.

I think Freddie is just calling it how he sees it. Why is it that you open threads about roach and take him for face value on his comments but since this specific comment doesn't run parallel with your train of thought, that he must be playing mind games?
