If Mayweather was knocked out years ago, his numbers would drop IMO, because a vast majority of those people buying his fights watch them in the hope of him losing.

Yeah, you're right. As Floyd says, his haters are fans because they're still buying his fights, even if it is to see him lose.

I do agree with that observation. Some of Floyds haters probably watched his fights hoping to see him lose. Unfortunately for them they were wrong.

It's good because "haters make you famous", but then again, it has to suck being hated, booed every concert, basketball game, place you go. But I'm sure making 100+ million a fight makes him feel a little better about it...

LOL but I do admit that most of the people wouldn't mind being booed almost everywhere he goes as long as he earns in a fight what most of us cant earn in a hundred lifetime.

That is a load of ****.

I find it highly unlikely that someone pays hundreds of dollars to watch someone lose.

I'm not Mayweather's biggest fan but i respect his boxing skills and how he has managed his success. I have paid for Floyd's PPV's myself without being his greatest fan because at the end of the day, he's like the jordan of boxing. He also does a good job at making everything a show, it's entertainment. So yes, some non-Floyd fans watch him because of who he is, some of those that pay, want him to lose.

I am glad they're finally fighting; but admit I'm a little torqued it didn't happen 5 or 6 years ago because they could have fought three times by now.

Odds are, it will be a relatively exciting fight with a controversial ending which keeps Mayweather's "0" intact.

The politics of modern boxing turns my stomach sometimes; but maybe if Al Haymon's big gamble pays off, that will change in the future.

Regardless of what happens in this fight, future historians will be shaking their heads at the immense amount of bs which delayed the meeting of these two ATG's for so long. Its a true black eye to the sport.

People pay money to please themselves. To a lot of people, it will please them to see Mayweather lose. It's not that far-fetched.

Besides, I know several people who splurged on the De La Hoya and Hatton fights with Floyd just to see Floyd lose. After those fights they never splurged again because they knew they would most likely just waste their money anyway lol.
