Eubanks Snr was mostly hype, why should Jnr be any different?

No, Eubank jr. isn't half as good as his father was.

Ha ha, the OP deserves some props, had me giggling a bit.

The commentary was a bit much, ITV had Big Al Bernstein and so us 'Brit****s' were left to get silly on our own on BoxNat.

I think actual 'hardcore' (....oooh sorry) fans are all too aware that a surname carries no special merit once the bell rings and if they were watching Chris Smith Jr doing exactly the same thing (although the fights wouldn't have been made), pant wetting would be on-hold.

Eubank Jr is great to watch given that he's undoubtedly charismatic, very dedicated, highly ambitious and most of all hugely risk taking, always looking for the KO. He's the definition of fan-friendly!

He will definitely come unstuck against a real fighter with a shell-defence and a hard, well timed counter punching style (GGG, prime Abraham for example). No doubt in my mind he's heading off a cliff but until then, he'll be one hell of a draw and, just maybe, he'll reach great success without having to face such a fighter...? It could happen.....

One thing's for sure, his dad was (at 23-24 years old remember) streets ahead of Jr in terms of pretty much every attribute you'd want in a fighter. I've no doubt a prime Sr dismantles the current Jr with that relentless, masterful butchery he so often displayed.

So let's not hold Chris Jr to such comparisons and hope he can just provide entertaining and passionate fights.

Lucky that Eubank Jnr was on the Fury undercard as both of his fights have been shyte.

Eubank Jnr will jump the sinking ship soon

Great points, and nobody would have a problem if Eubank was being billed as an exciting young fighter with glaring limitations instead of the British Roy Jones for the 2010's that Rawling and Jones were fantasising about.

Whaa? "not worked well"? The kid is rapidly becoming one of the most talked about boxers out there. One split decision loss to BJS - a fight CEJ deservers a lot of credit for even taking - then battering the interim WBA title off of Chudinov? Only a few fights back he was a feather-fisted bum fighting bus drivers and binmen from Latvia.

Soon he'll have a couple of million in the bank. not worked well. :good

I'd like to see him in with Ryder and/or macklin. He is entertaining, not convinced yet though.

I agree 100%. Fighters today are routinely over hyped, and this is why I have lost touch with the sport somewhat. Eubank Jr is a very limited arm puncher who is nowhere near as good as he thinks.

I used to like Rawling, but he has turned into a cheerleader like most of the commentators do.

He is not as good as his dad and never will be but will always have that comparison. Im not sure how far he can go but hope he does well

I'd like him to work on his defence for his next fight. It's not had too much of an impact as of yet but he does get caught with a few hooks he could probably avoid.

A little of topic, anyone who has watched JRs public workout and post fight conference know the name of his newly appointed assistant coach? Apparently coached Snr for a short spell in the 80's

The fact is the commentators to comment on how he performed in that fight, not how they think this performance would fare against another fighter, that's just stupid because whats to say he would fight that way against anyone else. As far as the GGG comparison was going was saying that the fights were similar, one man beating up the other guy that was very brave and was actually contesting every round but not winning many if any of the rounds.

over hyped is 100% right and the comments coming from snr are just ludicrous.

I definately think he should go to Virgil Hunter if the opportunity arises. He would iron out some flaws and enchance his natural athletic ability. He does remind of a green Khan.
