Jhonny -Gonzalez " I intend to knock Garry Russell out "

The current plan remains the same. Beat Russell in March and then move forward to a rematch with Abner Mares in June and then Leo Santa Cruz in September.

"There has been talk of a plan of work for me, which was first Gary Russel, then the rematch with Mares and then in September with Leo Santa Cruz. These are the plans, and I feel motivated. I hope it's my best year. I am working very hard in the gym," Gonzalez said.

The match making of Russel is so strange. TBE for 5 years and then one killer after another.

Russell has a good skill set, but he hasn't faced a killer with the resume and experience of Gonzalez. It's all gonna come down to how he can handle that vicious left hook.

I think Jhonny might pull it off, Loma hurt GRJ quite a few times and probably could have got him out of there, Jhonny is a better finisher if he hurts him, he'll finish him, he's friends with Arce that's why he held back.

:yep True, but he also knew Mares from back in the day and even Mares prefight said something about getting whipped by Jhonny and Mares wanted to prove to Jhonny he was a different, better fighter now. Maybe cuz Arce was shot to hell he carried him most of the fight and a prime Mares came in trying to do what PDL did, sure as hell didn't work out for him.

This fight will tell us a lot about GRJ. Looking forward to it.
