Spzilka or Molina. Everyone else in WBC top 15 is too dangerous for Wilder.

Hopefully either Fury, Price, Chisora, Joshua or Sprott. All would shatter Wilder's repugnant mandible.

It has to be someone in the top 15 of the WBC so it looks like the most realistic options would be, in no order:

    Szpillka
    Molina
    Arreola

Whoever is with Haymon from that group would have the best chance. I know Szpillka and Arreola are not sure about Molina.

I suppose the WBC could go ahead and plug someone like Briggs in the top 15 between now and then but for now those 3 guys would seem like the leading candidates.

Give the old man his crack. (I'm talking about Thompson, for the record, not Mayweather Sr.)

It could be Michael Grant. ;) It makes a perfect sense.

Well he's already turned down Povetkin.

Perez is set to fight Povetkin and would probably make more money fighting Povetkin than fighting Wilder and if he beats Povetkin he'd be a mandatory and make a bigger share of the purse when a fight is negotiated with Wilder. So we can forget Perez.

Fury is Wlad's mandatory and would make more money against Wlad and he's probably too dangerous for Wilder to want to risk it.

Glazkov is fighting Cunningham in an eliminator for a potential fight with Wlad, so he's out of the question.

Browne is set to fight Chagaev so that's unlikely.

Joshua is not ready, I doubt his team would throw him in so soon. Not that he couldn't beat Wilder but it would accelerate him towards Wlad sooner than they would like.

Andy Ruiz Jr looked poor against Liakhovich so wouldn't be too dangerous when you consider Wilder crushed Liakhovich. Ruiz Jr being Mexican could bring in some fan interest.

Manuel Charr would be a safe opponent. He's beaten Grant since Povetkin and isn't a puncher so is possible but a less appealing option.

Szpilka and Molina are another 2 safe options. Szpilka lost to Takam and Molina to Arreola so neither are world beaters.

Arreola is possible but he's had 2 shots already and been beaten every time he's stepped up and may not be an easy sell considering he lost to Stiverne twice.

Thompson is another possibility but a dangerous one, he's proven he can cause an upset but he did look awfully slow against Solis.

Solis lost to Thompson so he's out of the question and clearly doesn't deserve a title shot.

So Ruiz Jr, Charr, Szpilka, Molina and Thompson are the most likely options.

Of that list, only Fury and Joshua stand a chance in hell, and only Fury has earned anything close to a world title shot.

Sprott......he hasnt been relevant in almost 10 yrs.:rofl

    Szpilka, Molina or Tony Thompson.

Most likely Szpilka b/c he's a Haymon fighter and easily countered b/c his defense is so sloppy.
His chin is also a huge liability, and while he showed big heart in his decision win over McCline, fighting with a broken jaw, he's showed that even the crudest of punchers can take him to his limits in his fights with Mollo.:patsch

There use to be a corner man in the 90's that would have a megaphone and yell out his instructions to his fighters via the megaphone. One time I remember he distracted the ref threw the megaphone in the ring and his boxer picked it up and laid the fellow out cold with one shot. The ref missed the action and counted him out. The guy was out for like 10 minutes muchless 10 seconds. Can anyone remember that trainers name or what fight that was? He had one of dem mullet hair cuts and a beard. Wilder is gonna need a goon like that if he fights a live body.

Thompson, or Povetkin... Either of those two of more than acceptable... But it'll probably be either Molina, or Spzilka.. The latter one being acceptable.. I just hope it isn't Molina :-(

He could definitely flatten Wilder if he comes out guns blazing and lands some of those bombs.. Really that would be a great fire fight while it lasted, two dynamite fisted brawlers with limited technical ability and glass jaws.
