lol I guess Pep wasn't a good boxer then. Dirrell outlanded Froch even though he "ran all night". No matter, Ward would stand in the pocket with Froch and beat the hell out of him, and then lose a decision in the land of Robin Hood. Thievery is a tradition in Nottingham. lol
So no choice between staying at 168 and moving up to 175? Stevenson's a Haymon guy and plans on calling out the winner of Kovalev-Pascal - why doesn't Ward do the HBO commentator thing for that fight and call out the winner? He'd steal that payday from Stevenson, JayZ fukks Haymon over. Everybody happy.
The guy bid 1.4 mil for Quillin v Korobov. He'll dig deep if it means picking up a meaningful fight.:think
The first fight happened in Atlantic City New Jersey. Ward is a Cali boy, has no ties to the state of New Jersey. I don't even think he visited it before the Froch fight. There was no hometown cooking or anything corrupted in the first fight. And the scorecards show.
That's not Froch's fault though is it? He isn't a judge. He just fights. The fact of the matter is Froch travelled to the US to fight Ward and lost. He has now offered Ward to travel to the UK for a rematch. The ball is in Wards court and I for one think he should take the fight. It brings him to the forefront of peoples attention as Froch is massively popular in Europe and is quite popular in the US (I think. correct me if I'm wrong).
Yeah, because Froch has all kinds of ties to NJ. :conf Ward is American, the venue was in America. Doesn't matter who's flight was longer, the American fought in America. Home soil fight. FFS, it would be like calling a Lemieux-N'Dam fight in Halifax a neutral soil fight. See how that goes.
I said "Ward" would stand in the pocket, pummel Froch and still lose a decision in Nottingham, not Dirrell.
True, and I agree that it would be good if Ward came to the UK, but Froch, other than landing the punch of his life, has no chance of beating Ward. Plus Froch used the scorecards as a way to convince himself the their fight was close.
A Californian flying to Atlantic City doesn't constitute them actually crossing the Atlantic you know. Dumb Muricans. atsch:rofl
If Roc Nation wins the bid to make the fight in the US they will have to vastly over pay and likely lose money on the fight. The fact is Froch is by far the bigger draw and the fight would generate far more cash in the UK. Even if this fight is not as big as the Groves rematch, Froch earned $6 million for the Kessler rematch and the first Groves fight so UK revenue would likely be at least $8 million which is 4 times Ward's biggest ever purse to date. If it goes to purse bids either Hearn wins the bid by a landslide or Roc Nation make a massive over bid in the hope they make their money back in later defences by Ward.
