In the currently hazy middleweight picture you can't really say anybody stands much chance with Golovkin but after that it really is a ****-shoot. I figure if you threw Spike in at random with anyone ranked top 5 in any major org he would be in with more than a decent puncher's chance.
just read jamie conlan has left breen and cyclone promotions... and will now be trained and promoted from macklins gym in spain... they are hoping to run shows in belfast:good
You just told Fra Spike is a potential top 5er, no? Yet you also more or less say this guy he is facing is basically Rigor Mortis (as was his last guy that you filmed for us).... What I want is a real test for Spike. I want to see if he has overcome his heretofore fatal lack of speed in the ring - as was so badly exposed against BJS. I wont know that if he keeps facing flatliners.
Whilst I don't disagree with your idea of his opponents (last and next) he has to create a bit of a stir in the states first, three quick wins in three months might just do that, remember he has to win fights in amerikee for fights to matter, Then he can look for the top five guys, spike versus lemeaux would be fun,
They aren't mutually exclusive ideas. The way he destroyed Fitzy or acquitted himself against BJS tell me he's up there h2h at middleweight - regardless of whether he goes on a brief can-crushing tour before his next test/career-advancing match-up. You were literally just arguing yourself on this same page of this very thread how activity is of paramount importance to boxers.
I do in my hole pay his wages. Absurdio ad reductum nonsense like that is just pinko hippy bull****. Advertising pays far more of his wages than tv licence subscriptions. In your logic I pay the binmans wages, the lollipop ladies wages, the governments wages etc... and I'll tell you this for a fact. Whether it's Ryle Nugnet, the lollipop lady down the road or the binman, none of them are taking orders from me anytime soon. So, no, I don't dig.
Jamie Kavanagh is returning to the ring on March 20th for the first time in nine months. Good news, he's a limited but exciting fighter.
I wanted you to be angry...just not at me! I was hoping you'd have the sense direct your spleen at the 'chiefs', not your fellow 'indian'. But sadly I detect nothing but the familiar 'helpless doormat' the "dont look at ME" attitude so characteristic of my fellow Irishmen and women. "But sure what can I do.....???" If all the great men of history had your attitude we'd all still be living in caves, travelling by horse and cart, dying of curable diseases, having plenty more famines in our land which was teeming with food etc etc etc As for the bit in brown - a friend of mine who lives in France recently put it very well. He couldnt understand why we put up with it here and he said: "Here in France the Government fears the people...in Ireland the people fear the govt..." So true. He was speaking of people just like YOU, BumBum......
Ever wonder where the money came from to get elite guys like Freddie Roach working with such a 'limited fighter', BJ.....
I am only asking a fair question. Do you know for a fact that a promotional company paid for Kavanaghs training expenses? If you dont then my question stands. Its a perfectly legitimate question. Maybe someone should ask Jamie himself? Tell you what - I'll do it: Well Jamie where did the moolah come from?
Kavanagh was a far better amateur when than he was a pro, I can understand why Roach would work with him at the beginning. The fact is that Roach has a massive gym full of fighters, both good and average and very few get good one on one time with him, Thats precisely why Kavangh left him actuallty, he wasn't getting the one on one time he needed with him. Btw, you do realize that Dean Bynre is even more limited than Kavangh and he was working there for years, likewise Dunne and Steven Collins? It's a gym at the end of the day, not a country club which costs a small fortunate to join. Maybe Kavanagh got funding from his family to move over to the US full time when he was still just a kid, wouldn't surprise. Where they got the money is no business of mine and I couldn't give a fiddlers fart either way. Kavanagh does seem like a decent guy either way and keeps his nose clean, so no point associating him with bad **** when there's no proof Anyways why do you have to be negative about everything? fcuk sake mate, I think you're an asset to the forum and incite decent debate from time to time, but you do go looking for agro and controversy and when its not there you make sure to create it. I also you open you mouth (or type in this case) when you dont have all the facts and it makes you look a bit clueless at times. So please mate, a bit of cop on would be in order:good
