For your education the second Jeffries Fitzsimmons fight was re-enacted for film twice , with both actors and the principal boxers!

 

Quite a few of those listed were not filmed, they are referring to still pictures taken from either the fights or re-enactments, people with a modicum of intelligence would discern that but Mendoza is not in that category.

 

Some inaccuracies in this, Bean had very little to do with the nuts and bolts of the fight,and,acording to reports was drunk when it took place Stuart was the promoter but Tom O Rourke was the stake holder , he produced a cheque in the ring that Fitzsimmons and his brother in law and manager Martin Julian objected to ,it took George Siler the referee to persuade them to go on with the fight.
Both men wore white 5 ounce gloves.
The fight stared at 5 pm on an overcast grey day.
Maher was first to land with a big right that collided with Fitz's nose splitting open the skin.
They clinched and ,when told to break Maher again swung his right ,this time to the body.Siler grabbed Maher and threatened to throw him out if he did it again.
Fitz got home with a big right to the heart but Maher weathered it ,Fitz feinted another and Maher dropped his guard.
Fitz's next punch,another right missed and Maher returned fire with two shots to Fitz's head and they clinched again.
Engaging again Maher landed a right swing to the temple and tried a big left hook to the body which missed,as he did so Fitz side stepped, hooked his left with full power to the stomach and followed it with a huge right hand to the chin.Maher was out before he hit the deck. The fight lasted 95 seconds.
This result forced Corbett out of retirement and back into the ring.

 

I'm certainly no ally of McVey, but you do seem to be confusing a book containing PHOTOGRAPHS of fights with actual film.

I didn't have major surgery I had an operation and what it entailed is none of your *****ng business , this was after you refused to answer my two pms my public message entitled FAO MENDOZA and my emails . asking for details of your flight and time of arrival you then didn't come back on here until you were safely back in the US.
