He's always said Floyd was a difficult fight... and admitted 5 years ago he would've spanked Manny....

but now, after some of Floyd's recent performances he thinks the gap has closed enough that they have a small chance....

so I guess the question is, who waited for who?

It wouldn't be inconceivable to think that Manny, Roach and Arum waited for Floyd to slow down, when if you think about it.... Age is on Manny's side, he's two years Floyd's juniour....

So Floyd's decline (in terms of 'real' age) has always been more iminent...

Maybe they both think that way. Floyd said that he waited for the right time to fight Manny.

Roach has already commented that Pacquiao has to fight the "perfect fight" to win this match. I think most objective fans realize Manny is the one with the uphill battle May 2nd.

    Pac****s are in denial.

Roach is the ultimate trash talker, mind games are ON:

“Luckily Roger won’t be running the corner for Floyd. His dad will be in the corner,” Roach said via Rappler.com. “I think Floyd Sr makes it an easier fight for us. The dad’s not as good a trainer. He’s not as good a fighter. He keeps telling me how great he is, but it takes him 10 minutes to say one world in the corner.”

    I LOVE IT.

Source for Roach saying that Pac has a "small chance" against Floyd?
:rofl That is you saying dude

Certainly, Pac has more declined the last few years. In my view, Floyd is still close to his peak. Never lost, impressive performances against Mosley, Alvarez and Guerrero.

Roach has always been confident in Pacquiao's chances to beat Floyd. He always wanted the fight. Floyd is the one who stalled all the way to two weeks ago but was finally forced by Les Moonves to put up. Roach speaks humbly for Pacquiao -- by design. ;)

That's pretty funny. These guys are always winning the psychological battles. It plays a bigger part than people realize.

This fight will bring out the best in both i hope its a war and they both taste canvas. People need to embrace it and quit all the fanboy nonsence.

For me i think Floyd of 5 years ago whips Manny easily. Now i think floyd doesnt look great, maybe it was Maidanas size but the running he done in the 12th really annoyed me. and the whinging like a ***** when he was "bitten".

on the other hand Mannys level of competition was poor. Algieri is an awful opponent, even the biggest fanboy knows this deep down. Rios coming off a loss too and he didnt stop either. Algieri is a novice, Pac should have buried him. So i just dont know thats whayt makes my heart thump in my chest when i think about it.

Hopefully get a good undercard too, i hear Lomachenko. He will do for me. I would love Frampton v Quigg. That would be a war, great exposure for both and they wouldnt demand a huge purse.

Pacman has more fights, and offensive fighters always age faster than defensive ones.

Plus Manny has been KOed 3 times.

Ludicrous. Style wise, Manny is much more worn out. Manny fights in a high energy style that requires stamina. Floyd fights in a relaxed style with low output.
5 years ago, Manny could have won through volume and aggression. Today, that task is harder due to aging.

He's as much of a liar as bob arum. 5 years ago he was saying how Manny would KO floyd and that Floyd was running scared.
