That's a ******ed statement. Ali had HIGHLY underrated power, and could most certainly hurt Tyson. Toney at heavy hit nowhere NEAR as hard as Ali. Big difference.
Not to mention the fact that Toney wouldn't have any fear of Tyson and would almost forsure show Tyson no respect in the lead up to the fight which Tyson wasn't used to. This would really mess with Tyson once the fight goes a few rounds and Toney isn't going no where and is making him miss and pay.
ali could not even hurta fragile Chin like norton's so no, he would not hurt tyson because his power, it would be IF tyson got gassed, you are saying that no fighter would beat tyson IF he can't hurt him, what is completely absurd and ******ed, ali probably would beat tyson by decision and his power would not be a factor because tyson took much harder shots from harder punchers, so a victory OF Ali over tyson would have nothing TO do with the power OF ali, because tyson would not respect his power, in few words, your comment is the ******ed one
And toney was PERFECTLY capable TO hurt evander when he was gassed, holyfield always had better chin and stamina than tyson,
Tyson in 1996 was still a great fighter and would have annihilated Toney rather easily. It was after the losses to Holyfield that things went seriously downhill for him on a psychological level and he was never the same fighter afterwards.
In his biography he says it was after the bite match and the ban he completely fell out of love with the sport and stopped caring for title shots, his legacy and being the best, he only fought because he desperately needed money
Toney would humiliate Tyson at that time, losing to a jumped up Middleweight would be the final nail in the coffin for Mighty Mike...
The '96 incarnation of Tyson was still dangerous enough to take out anyone of that time within four or five rounds. Toney would stand a great chance if he manages to still be in there after that. Can't see him keeping Tyson off succesfully, though. Tyson by stoppage.
Tyson would hardly land on Toney, he would get more frustrated as the fight went on and would fall apart in the later rounds. Toney's attitude in the ring would unnerve him like crazy.
You do realise what happened to Buster Mathis once Tyson timed him? I see the same happening to James Toney, but hed last a few rounds longer.
Ruddock, Williams, Botha etc showed him no respect either. Toney has no size or physical advantage over Tyson. Standing in front of Tyson is suicide. Tyson knocks toney spark out.
