So when Vitali hurts Lewis with a right cross in Round 2 at 1:49 minutes...what is he doing? Can you describe it? It looks to me like he spends 20 seconds hanging on for dear life, what you described as an illegal tactic that could warrant a DQ. This is why the Lewis defenders in this thread are being made to look so bad and hypocritical. Really, what an absurd post.

You're ****i*g paranoid ,I was agreeing with you regarding Wlad's status. And the fact is Holyfield was rated above Dokes in the only impartial ratings out there.

Nah, he holds for about five seconds, then they exchange and he holds for another five. For the rest of the round Lewis mostly blocks and fights back.

But looking at Wlad's fight with Peter again, I have to say that it was exaggeration to say that Wlad possibly should have been disqualified. It wasn't that bad.

But my point stands that Wlad has showed himself hapless on several key occasions when hurt and pressed. He loses his balance, ducks way too low (and gets hid on the back of the head because of it) and doesn't really manage to fight back.

    Do you really dispute that?

Here's him against Brewster if anyone has forgotten:

same as both klitschkos, although in their defense the guys may not be very good.

all three are the biggest champions in history, all three have puzzling losses to way lesser guys

Not accurate. Lewis wraps up Vitali at 1:50 after the punch rocks him. Vitali shoves him off at 1:42. There is no exchange.

Lewis backs up and Vitali pushes forward behind some jab attempts, Lewis ducks and grabs him again at 1:39. Ref separates at 1:33 and action resumes at 1:31. So my description was accurate.

Lewis does block some punches at range after all that holding but he isn't hurt in those sequences is he? This was your comment:

"Lewis showed an altogether other composure when hurt "

I've show this to be a false claim. When visibly hurt by a right hand, he ate clock and saved his legs by clinching...just like Wlad...or anyone else.

I would say so, since you would now have to admit Lewis should have been DQed against Vitali for clinching when he was hurt.

Absolutely, I dispute it. You may have been living in a cave and missed them, but Wlad has actually fought since punching himself out and losing to Brewster. Odd example anyway, since the guy was dead tired with no legs in the round before Brewster finally put together some punches and forced a stoppage.

Wlad showed excellent composure and survival skills when hurt by Brock body punches that visibly rocked him, when he was visibly rocked by a Haye right cross in the 12th only to come back and win the roud, and when Wach stunned him pretty good in the 5th he made it out of the round by covering up on the ropes and dancing away since the big guy wouldn't let him clinch. He also took Pulev punches that got his attention seconds before he scored the knockout.
