The only world class guy Floyd has ever outclassed was Marquez who was way too small and perfect style for him, admittedly Pac is smaller, but he has qualities which are troublesome to Floyd. I wouldn't put Corrales down as WC, nor a past prime Mosley.

lol Corrales was ranked pfp no. 4 at the time he fought Mayweather (which was higher than Mayweather's ranking) and you wouldn't call him world class? Makes me think you weren't even following boxing at that time.

    I don't think its naive

I think either Pac will win or be robbed or Mayweather will outclass Pacquiao

Don't see Mayweather winning a close fight in this one

I think Mayweather wins simply because Pacquiao might have trouble finding his range.

Corrales (RIP) was a very good fighter but not elite, not on the level of the Oscar De La Hoya's , Miguel Cotto's, Juan Manuel Marquez. These guys are 4 division word champs at least and beat some great fighters. Put Corrales as 'world class' and you have to include guys like Casamayor too, who was himself very skilled. I wouldn't even call Castillo world class, only fringe.

How could that be construed as naive? If anything that is the majority opinion.

Yeah if this is case then Pacquiao will basically be completely embarrassed

Not sure if it will happen but it is definitely a possibility and the only way I see Mayweather winning

it's really not naive to think so. Manny looks like an entirely different fighter when faced against the likes of Bradley and JMM. His 1000 punches that's he's able to throw on guys like Margarito gets cut down drastically. It's not naive to think Floyd is in a higher class lmao. Theres a reason why Floyd is a 3 to 1 favorite. Are they naive as well?

Because as I've said, there's a difference when his opposition steps up. Like Emmanuel Steward said, 'Cotto is no Victor Ortiz' and it showed. Cotto won rounds with Floyd.

He's definitely the favourite and I think he will win, but I'm talking out class here. Making Pacquiao look like a Guerrero.

I don't think, or hope at least, that wont happen. Pacquiao should win some rounds.

That's an overly reductive argument to say that Floyd loses the ability to outclass people when they reach a certain level, though.

It has more to do with the boxing truism of "styles make fights". There were specific things Cotto did that brought him success.

Canelo is also world class, and Mayweather very clearly outclassed him (far more easily than he did Cotto) and most were favoring Canelo to beat Cotto when they were originally supposed to meet on May 2nd.

There is more to being "world class" than spanning divisons. Hagler only fought at 160, so he's not 'world class'? Diego is only being slighted by you haters because he lost to Mayweather. How can someone rated pfp no. 4 not be world class? Diego was more dominant at the weight he fought Mayweather than any weight Cotto has fought at. I reinterate, ydksab.
