“He [Mayweather] has very good speed and footwork, and he has punches, and that makes him look good. But it depends on the fighter he is going to fight. For me as a boxer, I know what the job is. I’m going to throw a lot of punches, a lot of hard punches.”

“There is nobody out there who really has thrown a lot of punches at him, but I’m going to do that, He is a very good boxer, but I know how to box and I can move side to side and throw punches.” Pacquiao said.

mayweather as a natural counter puncher will lower your output (sometimes by as much as half your average), its just what counterpunchers do

Pacquiao is really very strong and is very much confident and fast. Floyd need a very hard and heavy practice for this bout.

OMG pac gets it. LOL people will be shocked to see mayweather covering all night from pac's volume. If mayweather can't hurt pac he is in for a long night.

That single shot counters is not going to deter a naturally aggressive volume puncher like pac.

I think Floyd will be even more timid against Pac as Pac can also counter.

Doubt it, trying to counter a master counter puncher is a game pac can't win, and floyds speciality.
He'll be playing right into floyds hands.

LOL. Even slower Maidana countered Floyd's pull counter. So Pac can counter Floyd too.I am not saying that all Pac will do is wait and counter. But given the opportunity he can counter too. He countered the master counter puncher JMM plenty of times. Pac even dropped JMM with a counter in their fourth fight.

Judah dropped Floyd with a counter(he hit Floyd with good counters).Pac's counter packs with power and he is also good at countering.Don't be surprised if Floyd is even more timid against Pac.

I hope Roach comes up with a better strategy than just 'throw punches'. Maidana threw a ton of punches but judges sometimes don't like wild punches that don't land.. it makes it look cheap, as if the fighter is trying to score points by just throwing wildly.

Pacquiao needs to be aggressive but pick his spots and use feints and in/out, side to side movement. He has to be busy in the ring but i hope he doesn't just recklessly punch and punch, won't work unless Floyd somehow succumbs and gets knocked out.

If you let him do his thing then yeah it will be difficult but if you can time him, get off your punch first and land it consistently, it will deter him.

I would not even worry about making the punches hard. Perhaps, an occasional hard shot to keep your opponent honest. Overall hard shots take more energy, especially the ones you miss. He should just concentrate on sheer volume. Even if they are light punches.

Maidana's landing in that counter had little to do with his speed, more to do with his 1) timing and 2) Mayweather not expecting anything in return.

Chris Algeria was hitting Pacquiao with that right all night with ease. It's Floyd's money punch, i see PAC getting hit and frustrated with all the movement mayweather will give him all night. We may see Pacquiao do a canelo and practically begging mayweather to engage with him.

Floyd has slowed down, but Pacquiao isn't the the same ether. Can Floyd get hit, yes? But Pacquiao is far easier to hit. How fight plays out in my mind. Floyd fighting when he wants to and landing with ease. Pacquiao chasing and hitting air all night and just getting frustrated and start making mistakes. He will start jumping and reaching in and countered all night.

Comparing Marquez to Floyd in any way is laughable, but comparing their power is just ridiculous.
