Why does everyone say Golovkin is a small middleweight?

He doesn't look like a small middleweight at all. He's built thick and massively strong. Look at his ****ing shoulders. I remember a lot of people saying Rosado was bigger than him when they fought. That's bull****. Rosado had a few inches on him, doesn't mean he's bigger. And everyone says Martin Murray is a big middleweight but GGG almost made him look small. GGG is a big middleweight, yah.

Dno, hagler was 5'8 but he did have a huge reach, hagler would be a very small mw today. Ggg looks as big as anyone else, Rubio is a big mw and so is murray.

He's average for MW at this point in his career. Definitely not a "big" MW. He only comes into the ring at 172. I think Canelo usually comes in the ring at that weight from 54.

he's barely 5'10 but more importantly he walks around at only 165-168lbs when you got huge MW's like jccjr walking around at 200+ and well over 6ft

What's the point of being 'big' for a division? So you're stronger pound for pound? GGG is obviously strong enough for the division, and maybe more fighters should actually get strong for a weight division rather than draining down to get that advantage. GGG is where he should be, and if he gets stronger as he moves up he'll be just as dangerous at 168.
