Considering the landscape, my grandmother could become HW champ.

His resume is arguably as good, if not better than Wilders prior to facing Stiverne. Who did Wilder face before getting in with Stiverne???? A-Farce, Shot White Wolf, his featherfisted friend Malik Scott? Wouldn't hurt for him to get more experience, but I think he could knock Wilder out right now. Klitschko, Povetkin, Pulev, Perez, Takam, Thompson and maybe a few others? A bit early.

Parker can bang when he is facing the victims that his team is hand feeding him/selecting for educational purposes. Stiverne would be the guy i would want to see Parker up against next, depending on which Stivern showed up on the night. If he was in a fighting mood he would show us what Parker was all about. We have yet to see how Parker will react when under extreme pressure from a B level opponent, since as how he hasnt faced anyone at that level so far.:deal:thumbsup

It's too early to say but it's not out of the realm of possibility that he could pick up a title, especially after Wlad retires and frees up the titles.

He clearly has talent, fast, powerful, decent size and in decent shape which in this era is a bonus. What may hold him back is the lack of a quality trainer and sparring. Not to disparage Kevin Barry but he doesn't have the credentials to suggest he can take Barry to the fullest of his potential and the level of opposition in terms of sparring in Australia is not going to be great.

A-Farce, the corpse of White Wolf and Malik Scott the diver are still better than anyone Parker has faced. Let's not overhype a fighter just yet, when we have no idea how he reacts when an opponent fights back.

Looks like Parker will be training and sparring Wladimir Klitschko for three weeks in Florida. More details at the tribune.

    klitschko-begins-training-for-jennings-test-brings-in-young-ko-artist-for-sparring/

This must surely benefit Parker way more than Wladimir! Parker has quicker hands than jennings and has far superior power

He hasn't done too much wrong to date. He could probably do with a fight or two outside of NZ.

    My thoughts too.

    Wouldn't surprise me.

I really like his punching style, the combinations of short, fast, powerful punches. His lack of reach could be an issue at the top level but not necessarily an impossible one to overcome.

I'd love to be a fly on the wall for the Klitschko vs. Parker spars...

is Parker to get him ready for Jennings? or a little advance work in expectation of a Wilder or Fury fight? Parker would seem to have little in common with Jennings.

Comparable size (height and build anyway, though Jennings has much longer reach, 8" more than Parker) and they do work similar body-head combos at mid-range - those low thumping uppercuts transitioning into hooks up top with both hands. Parker used that combo to break down Pettaway yesterday, and Jennings did the same with Liakhovich and Tupou, among others.
