Good post, but what do you mean when you say that neither Dirrell brother is competition?

exactly who is there at SMW? an inactive Ward? an old Froch on the verge of retirement? Abraham, Stieglitz or maybe MW Sturm?

at MW there's Cotto (WBC, if he decides to fight GGG his mandatory) Quillin-Lee winner, Saunders, N'Dam, and up and comers like Jacobs, Lemieux, Monroe Jr, Khytrov or Murata, so GGG will be spoiled for choice in the next few years

I honestly can't see how GGG takes out Andre Dirrell.

His career has stalled recently, but he's got immense talent.

As great as he is, GGG isn't a huge guy, and he's relatively easy to hit.

Andre Dirrell has great footwork, great skills, great hand speed, and he's a 6'1 southpaw, with a 75' reach, weighing in as a LHW on fight night.

I think that would be the worst possible opponent for GGG, along with James Degale.

A horrible style match up from GGG's perspective.

I think he'd have a nightmare with either of those guys.

I rather see GGG fight different calibre opponents 4 times a year than Ward fight 2 weight-drained zombies in 3 years any day of the week :thumbsup

You answered your own question as to why it would be more impressive to win a title at 168. He would have to move out of his natural weight class and beat a larger man. I would say beating a legit 168lb fighter is more impressive than beating cotto who can't even make 160.

And the 175 is more of a cherry on top. I wouldn't hold it against him if he didn't venture that high, but to say goin up 15lbs is the same as wlad dropping 80+ lbs is the worst ****ogy I've ever heard. Several fighters have gone above their natural weight class to win titles, but I can't think of one hw that dropped 80 lbs to win a title in a lower weight class in which he never fought at.

Stop making excuses for the guy, everyone knows he's really good, now let's see if he's great.

He's a MW. He should stay at MW unless he is offered a big money fight at a different weight.

COTTO WONT HAPPEN! And if it does who cares, cotto hasn't beat a mw at 160. Quillen won't fight him, lee would but that's a massacre waiting to happen. There's a trend here and of it's not obvious here it is in plain writing, everyone knows ggg will destroy any mw in the near future.

Will he beat ward, idk, will he beat froch, idk, any good smw, IDK. I hear from some fans that ggg punches like a hw, if that's the case bring that power up.

What are people so afraid of of ggg moves up? I think he has a good chance of beating all the 168 guys, but unlike 160 I am unsure of the outcome.

just because he massacres the current crop of MW's means he should move up? even if he does have a chance of capturing a belt at 168, his priority is 160 as he has fought there his entire career, he should only move up for big fights, seeing as putting on even a few pounds of muscle and latter draining yourself back causes severe strain on the body, it's one of the reasons Canelo will be shot by the time he's 30

I respect your opinion, but amateur fights from over ten years ago mean absolutely nothing whatsoever.

We're looking hypothetically, if GGG moved up and fought him now.

    Andre Dirrell has many advantages.

He would would knock out DeGale easily? Based on what?

I'm a huge fan of GGG's, but I think you're getting a little carried away here.

GGG isn't that hard to hit, and he'd have his hands full with two fast southpaws who are significantly bigger than he is.

He isn't a big guy, and as yet, we've no idea how he'd fare against 6ft SMW's.

YES!!!! That's exactly what I'm saying. I'm saying move up and beat people at their weight class, but don't look back. I've never said he should bounce back and forth. Boxers CHALLENGE themselves, that's what builds a great legacy.

You're saying he should fight cotto. Where did he start from. Is he a natural mw? Cotto isn't a career defining win, despite the titles that are associated with it. Sorry to break that to you.

How would people view srr, srl, durran, Hopkins, rjj, Holyfield, Armstrong, toney, pacquiao, mayweather, dlh, hearns, etc. if they were to have just stayed within their comfort zone? Not in the same light that's for sure. Yes, every fighter has their haters, but the general consensus is they're all great.

since golovkin fights about four times a year, he has time to beat cotto, quillin, andcanelo, and still move up by this time next year.
