Underrated heavyweight: Tony Thompson

He's one of america's best heavyweights of the last 15 years!

 

Extremely underrated....

 

Hes properly rated

Not great but definitely still pretty good

 

I'd use Tony Thompson as the proof that this era of heavyweights absolutely sucks. He's old, started boxing when he was near 30, slow, with little technical skill or power. The fact that any contender can lose to this guy is a travesty.

 

This is closer to how I feel

He exposes hype jobs

I don't think he beats any actual good contenders

 

he's had on pretender ducking him for years now. a certain uncoordinated oaf from the uk.

 

that a 43 year old is some kind of glorified gatekeeper is a testament to the weakness of the era.

Obviously not saying hes bad though, hes got enough to beat the other "bronze bomber".

 

george foreman was older than that, and champ in the mid nineties.

Is tony Thompson anything like gold medallist former undefeated undisputed HOF-crushing ATG-destroying 2 time world champion foreman who was that good he could win a title in his 40s?
