    Today's top 20 are poor.

Just list the fighters, and it really hits home.

I'm not saying that Joe beats everyone, but just laughing at the mere suggestion that he couldn't compete, is ridiculous. (I'm not referring to yourself)

Did you see the Stiverne vs Arreola fight for example?

We've got guys like Cunningham, Pulev and Tarver in the top 10-15.

Baer was a bigger, better fighter than Huck and hit much harder. Not to mention we have no idea how Povetkin would handle getting hit with 4 to 6oz gloves. Anyone thinking Baer isnt in this fight and cant win is just foolish.

Louis was the first fighter with two handed skills and footwork? :rofl
This just shows what little you know of boxing history. Dempsey, Johnson, Jeffries, Corbett, Fitzsimmons, do any of those name ring a bell?

Baer showed he could tame punches from gloves nearly half as small. Povetkin is tough, but there is no way of knowing how he would react to that.

Pretty good style match-up for Povetkin, who does pretty well when guys around his size come to him (see Charr and Takam). I think Sasha wears down a fighter who is there to be hit and stops him late.

povetkin isn't going to roll over, but he'd be outmatched.

he'd chase it though, once hes in the ring he certainly tries.

I like Povetkin a lot here. Would be competitive and probably a pretty entertaining match up but Povetkin is simply better.

Problem is Baer is just too sloppy to beat Povetkin. From his poor footwork to amateurish punching at times, he's just not going to win this fight.

He carried good power and a good chin and probably sees the final bell but a late Povetkin stoppage wouldn't be a shock.

I don't think you will be able to find very many fights that Baer won with a left hook. In fact, I don't expect you'll find any and that says a lot IMO.

how does alexander povektin outbox Klitschko? He nearly has 10 inches of reach on him and the height advantage.

Timing, maybe, believe it or not height and reach can only account for so much. Check out David Haye versus Valuev, Chagaev versus Valuev, Ibragimov versus Whitaker. Big problem is that Klitschko is actually good. The Ukrainian is smart, powerful and agile. Not an easy fight for anybody EVER.

These threads are funny . For nothing less than seeing all the eraphiles and Russophobes unite and pick Baer.

huh? they are picking the undisputed world champ and one of the most feared brawlers in history, against a guy who appears to be struggling to emulate audley Harrison.

what do you pick in those circumstances? apart from your nose.

When did one punch or lack of determine how good a fighter was? Tua was a top contender and did it almost solely with his left hook. Are you trying to say one punch is better than another?

How many E. Indian HW's could beat Povetkin? None, so you latch onto whomever fits your agenda.
