Golovkin absolutely brutalises Roldan over 15, 12, or 10. The guys who've made it past half way with Golovkin did so by shelling up and retreating. Roldan would wade in and get hammered.

GGG would reduce Roldan to a pile of rubble within 5 or 6.

interesting battle, Roldan was rugged and unorthodox and there should be some sparks of action before GGG takes him apart

Roldan had far more power, strength and effective slugging ability than anyone GGG has fought.I've little doubt he'd have destroyed every single fighter Golovkin has.

This is the kind of fighter you want to be seeing Golovkin against to really assess his worth.I mean who thought the big punching precision of Tszyu in his prime would get pushed about, bothered and hurt by the offense of Vince Phillips for instance?

we would likely be able to tell if Roldan would be going to expose hitherto unknown flaws pretty quickly. If he backs up Gennady, turns out to be clearly stronger then you might have a really interesting fight. It probably wouldn't take too long to see if his punches were going to bother him either.

Roldan wasn't versatile or as skilled a GGG, and he was a sprinter with a questionable mentality...not really in there for the long haul if his opponent can take his stuff and fire back with their own damaging work. He's not going to be doing anything new after 6 that he hasn't already tried...so it's likely if he hasn't managed to beat down Golovkin enough or discourage him by then that he'll be the one getting ground down and stopped.

I'd favour Golovkin as the more well-rounded and superior skilled seek and destroy fighter of the two, but as of right now would not bet much money on it as he would be by miles the best and most dangerous fighter Golovkin has ever fought.

I think Roldan would push Golovkin back and make it interesting.
I don't know how Golovkin fights backing up.

Obviously it's noteworthy that many here reckoned GGG beats D!ck Tiger, so not expecting many to give Roldan any credit.

hardly any quality ****ysis going into those Tiger picks. It seems more like certain posters that otherwise aren't that into current boxing trying to justify getting high on Golovkin and predicting they think he might end up a great middle.

Which is fine, but i really fail to see how he has been proven anywhere NEAR enough to be favoured over Tiger.

I still don't think that GGG would beat Tiger,....at least not yet.

Roldan at his best is a tricky, unpredictable fighter with very heavy hands. He shook Marvin a time or two...he also did something that gave Hagler fits...he stepped to the right, and threw crazy right hand bombs. It took a bit for Hagler to adjust, and wear him down...I think GGG would be capable of cutting Roldan down, but it wouldn't be easy.
