Do folks who think Ward should be able to dictate terms to Froch, also think.......

Does Austin Trout currently hold a higher ranking with titles and without having lost a fight since?!?

    Bad comparison. Try again.

Are Froch and Cotto draws? Yes

Can Ward and Trout sell out their back garden? No.

So if Pacquiao was to rematch Medgoen Singsurat you believe Pacquiao should take the lower cut and fight him in Thailand I take it.

You have to take in count how much they draw on tv, which is why your example is terrible. Would Trout draw over a million for a fight against someone like Rodrigeuz? Of course not. I don't know how much the usual views for Froch fights are, but since Ward was P4P #2, and he was drawing around a million off the fight the terms could have been better for him if he wasn't inactive.
What are Froch's ticket sales in the US? If the fight is in the US, his sales in UK wont mean squat. The fight should be in the US anyways, I doubt Ward would get robbed since it would be such a one sided schooling but you never know what happens in the UK.

I don't care who dictates what, nor do I care if the fight happens.

I would rather see both of them fight Kessler again tbh. Froch and Ward do not make a good fight, and Froch does not even enjoy fighting Ward, knows he would lose, and has said so multiple times.

I just can't get into that.

    Froch vs. Chavez
    Froch vs. GGG
    Froch vs. Hopkins
    Froch vs. Degale
    Froch vs. Groves III
    Froch vs. Bute II
    Froch vs. Pascal II
    Froch vs. Kessler III
    Froch vs. Stevenson
    Froch vs. Kovalev

Take your pick. Just keep Ward's boring ass away from Froch.

Did Cotto make more money for the Trout and Delvin fights than Ward did for the Dawson and Edwin fights? Because I'm pretty sure they made around the exact same amount.

I'm pretty sure Cotto and Ward just signed to the same manager and that Ward signed for more money...

The comparison is also bad because Cotto could fight 10 different guys other than Trout and make way more money while also competing in more relevant fights at the moment. Froch, on the other hand, couldn't fight a single fighter other than Ward and make more money nor claim it was remotely close to a more relevant fight.

If Froch was to fight Edwin Rodriguez in the USA, I guarantee he'd be able to do a capacity of over 4,500 in the same arena Ward fought him, because many fans would make the trip.

I seriously doubt Froch vs. Ward would pull in even close to Froch vs. GGG, Froch vs. Chavez, Froch v. Stevenson, Froch vs. Degale, or even Froch vs. Groves or Kessler III

I doubt it would do even 10k, and the views would probably be quite a bit less than a million in the US.

    Erm, yes he could.

A fight with Chavez Jr would be on PPV on both sides of the pond, and take place in Las Vegas. A fight with Ward is not PPV- HBO have already told Matchroom that.

If you watched Eddie Hearns interviews on youtube, he goes into great detail about why Ward brings less money to the table than the other options of Hopkins, DeGale, Kessler, Chavez Jr or Golovkin.

Saying that Froch v Ward makes more money for Froch than anything else is like saying Frampton will make more money fighting Rigondeaux than fighting Quigg.

10K would still be more than twice what Ward managed.

If Froch had it in his back yard, like Ward did he'd sell out a football stadium, regardless of the opponent.

Well then I'll hold my breath for the announcements of those fights.

What I won't have to hold my breath for is the next Ward/Froch Rivalry thread on these forums or the next time Froch or Froch's promoter talks about a potential Ward re-match provoked by the media or unprovoked entirely... Because it's brought up all the time.
