Who had ever KO'd Guerrero, or Bundu? Putting them both on the canvas seems a feat.

Guerrero's chin has improved as he moved up in weight, actually.

The likes of Salido & Yordan were pushing his **** in and buzzing him badly down at feather & super feather, and he was downed by a fairly shot Casamayor.

For the last four years, however, Guerrero has both developed a fan-friendlier style, taking more punches, from bigger men, all of whom except for Mayweather have been at least harder than average punchers. (Escobedo, Katsidis, Aydin, Berto, Kamegai, Thurman)

    :good

...and both are incredibly resilient, intelligent veterans, so faulting him for not finishing them off when hurt is stupid.

People can't see the forest for the trees. What's important is that he did drop/hurt these guys - not that he didn't stop them.

I didn't think Thurman could knock Guerrero down. The fact that he could left me impressed. Thurman is still a work in progress in my eyes but there is no denying that he can crack.

the punch to the ear seems to have been what messed Guerrero's equilibrium up. On the replay, it didn't look like the last two punches even landed.

If you think that power is over-rated, you need to get your eyes checked. Serious leather was being thrown last night by Thurman. Shoot, Guerrero wasn't exactly firing back with nothing either. He landed some hard shots of his own.

And Guerrero is tough as nails. Better bring a baseball bat into the ring if you plan on knocking him out.

What I was looking for the most in this, was Thurman's mental game. The man showed he could definitely box, as Robert is no fool for a boxer.

Whatever. Thurman still put him down. Not an easy task. Guerrero took some hellacious shots last night. I can't think of too many other welterweights that would have finished that fight on their feet.

Great thread because it actually highlights both Thurman's impressive power and the exceptional beards of his most recent opponents.

Now tell me Kenny Bayless wasn't protecting Mayweather?? He let Thurman & Guererro FIGHT which he should have done with Floyd- Maidana
It made this fight a great fight but he ruined Floyd-maidana

Yeah, I wasn't disparaging the knockdown, just pointing out that the replays didn't show the punch that landed. I agree, he was eating some bombs.

Nard got carried until the 12th. If Kov did that in the first few rounds when they met, the fight would've been over quick!

could of, should of, would have. If Hops was that feather fisted, Kovalev no doubt would have been on his **** from the start. It seemed like Kovalev was buckled by that one Hopkins right hand later in the fight. Never bothered to rewatch to verify, as it was a shut out
