Anyone spring to mind when you think of a guy who really seemed to enjoy inflicting punishment on the other guy, or who had a reputation for being vicious out of the ring? Two guys spring to mind for me.

Mike Tyson: Claims in his book that he wanted an opponent to die after fighting him because of the fear it would put into other fighters. Post-fight comments about Jessie Ferguson and Tyrell Biggs were weird to say the least.

Gerald McClellan. The dogs. Admittedly the most shocking stories about Gerald timing his Pit Bull kill a labrador with its mouth taped shut and intentionally aiming his car at flamingos in a shopping mall came from a guy called Stan Johnson, who seemed a complete low life, but McClellan definitely loved fighting dogs.

Monzon seems to have been a little impetuous.

S*ex offender burglar-****** Tony Ayala has to rank right at the top or thereabouts.

****** Mike Tyson is probably only second-tier. He liked to hurt his opponents and his women but there was probably an element of restraint there. I don't think he was full-blown sadist.

Yeah, McClellan was one sick f*ck too.

    Maybe Duran.
    Maybe Ali.

I guess most of the great fighters like to hurt people.

Sometimes the most sadistic fighters inside the ring, were not particularly sadistic outside it.

I might be in the minority but they both deserved it.

Why did they deserve it, especially Patterson?
