Saddler and Zivic in terms of dirty or rough tactics, kind of ironic considering both were supposed to be nice guys out of the ring. In terms of actually wanting to inflict pain on the opponent, Liston and Ketchel both come to mind.
Some of the cruelest guys in the ring, are nice enough outside it. Sometimes there is a total mental disconnect, between events in the ring, and the real world outside it.
I don't think Liston did. I've read him quoted as saying he didn't like the fight business, but it's all he could do.
Nah, Butler wasn't a sadist. He was bipolar and impulsive. I'm pretty sure he felt remorse for the awful things he did. Sam and Max never would've befriended him if he were just an as shole.
I hope he felt remorseful for what he did but setting someone on fire shrieks of sadism Also nobody reveals there true nature at first it's a natural defensive mechanism I'm sure he made the kellerman's think he had a heart of gold The devil always wore a kind face
He went straight to UCLA and begged for bipolar meds after that. We aren't living in the Middle Ages and we aren't trying to figure out who's a witch and who isn't. Butler had mental problems, but he was a different animal than a guy like Ayala who seemed to fit the sociopath mold a lot better. Valero was cut more from the same cloth as Butler and had the head trauma to back his case. A mountain of coke didn't help either.
