See, here in America we have so many things to watch, and a lot of people tuned in to the fights. This is outstanding, and this is good for boxing. Now quit with the phony hating on Haymon and Broner. ****en pathetic and so fake lold... I hope NBC boxing is here to stay.

From what I have read, that rating is similar to what was in that time slot previously, so there was negligible +/- on the telecast. As another poster mentioned above, it would be great to see what the ratings winners were on that night, to compare appropriately.

Looking at a ratings site, it appears PBC won the demographics 18-49 with a 3.13 mill peak viewers. Overall demos showed that 20/20, In an Instant, 48 hours, and two CSI reruns had a higher total of peak viewers.

Time Net Show 18-49 Rating/Sh Total Viewers (millions)
    8:00 ABC 20/20 Saturday - R 0.6/2 4.09
NBC Caught on Camera With Nick Cannon 0.6/3 2.55
FOX The Last Man on Earth - R 0.5/2 2.13
    CBS CSI - R 0.3/1 3.42

    10:00 CBS 48 Hours 0.7/2 4.65

It's not too bad for the first card and considering how bad the first fight was, hopefully the upcoming fights will deliver.

Will the show encourage people to come back? They fairly hyped pretty average fights

As a boxing fan, I would still watch if I get the chance. I have to say though, I am not really compelled to want to see the next card on Spike.

Il watch if its a decent fight but just thinking would casuals come back to that. The thurman fight was decent but the commentators and people afterwards were going on like it was the best thing ever. That older commentator was calling phantom punches everywhere too. I' didn't know what to make off it but it might have been a disaster for bringing in casuals with the boos and all aswell

Yeah, it really was just a decent fight with one very good round. Nothing really spectacular.

Number one in the time-slot for the demographic.

For me, in addition to the first fight being a snoozer, it was the overall production that was a turn off. The ring walks were terrible.

What did it lose to in the ratings?

The real housewives of Tel Aviv and Who wants to marry an abusive gimp.

So if the fight didn't happen it would have been 3.4M less viewers watching the sport. WTF are wrong with boxing fans here? Is it because it's an Al Haymon event? Heaven forbid right?

All I know, sunday morning at work, a lot of people (casual and non casual boxing fans) wee asking me if I watch the fights on TV. That put a smile on my face. Before, the only way to watch these fighters was through HBO or Showime.
