....would you be happy that he is bringing free boxing to your living room? I see a lot of negative comments which I don't understand. We got to see 6 good fighters on network TV. Fighters that I miss seeing for a few months due to not having HBO or Showtime. I had to either follow IB'S round by round posts or watch highlights on YouTube. A lot of my coworkers were asking me if I watch the fights on Saturday, some of them are not even boxing fans. My ex-wife even texted me that they were playing boxing on TV. So the exposure was there and even non-boxing fans took noticed. I think is a good thing, whether his making money or not, that his thing, after all he was the one who made it happened. All I care about is that is free for me. Just don't understand the hate. I know some people just trolling (extremist Pac fans), because of Haymon's association with Floyd, but I bet they are tuning in to watch. I guess some people will never be happy.
It has less to do with Pac and more to do with the mismatches(Garcia vs Salka, all of Broner's fights, etc) and questionable moves a lot of his fighters made last year(Quillin vacating, etc). I like the concept of PBC and it looks like this year even though it's still mostly in-house Haymon fights, the matchups are better and they'll be free, which is a huge plus. So Haymon can redeem his stock in the eyes of boxing fans with a good product this year. However, the first event as one might expect had some issues(ring walks, commentating, and Broner vs Molina just being a bad luck terrible fight) that are valid concerns going forward.
NO I wouldn't Pac has absolutely NOTHING to do with the equation. I would also be angry if Bob Arum, Don King, Or Oscar De La Hoya did the EXACT Same thing. Someone is trying to create a boxing "league" which is probably doomed to fail, but we will have to live out a few years of another cold war where the best won't fight each other because not all fighters will be in Haymon's garbage league.
I have to question, being the premiere champions league, if the best champions will match up. I expect we'll see Santa Cruz vs. Rigondeaux, Stevenson vs. Kovalev, and GGG vs. Quillin/Lee sometime by early 2016. I just hope it isn't exclusively open to fighters signed to Haymon or allied promoters.
the bottom line is people hate anything associated with Floyd Mayweather... 1. Pac went to showtime it it was great move... mayweather went and it's a terrible broadcasting company. 2. they hate the whole TMT stable... A bunch of guys who never says anything bad about anyone... But you got people hating on Ashley theophane, badoo jack, J Leon love bashing their skills and try to hide under the excuse of them being overhyped, what what is Mayweather supposed to do with this fighters to speak negatively about him he's trying to bring them exposure...these guys have all been humble about their skills yet the haters are going around acting as if they have been acting like Adrien Broner thinking they are the best thing since sliced bread which none of them have been acting like that. two popped on a **** test, I get it. They have been reprimanded, but people were hating on them before they popped. they never walk around being flashy or acting like they are entitled like adrien Broner it's just because they're associated with Mayweather. another fact is that people used to make negative comments about Jessie Vargas when he was with TMT now that he is no longer there they don't even talk about him. 3. al Haymon has a job to do just like Bob Arum, Don King. I can't stand the way Bob Arum carries himself on TV and in the media but I've never blame him because I understand he is a businessman and he's a great businessman at that and as much as I don't like him and know that he has been in the way of this Mayweather Pacquiao fight, I can also admit that he does a good job of bringing fighters up and making them stars. How many Haymon haters can admit that he does a good job of getting those fighters paid... Something that Bob Arum doesn't do? and I know he gets them paid because more and more fighters are running to him. 4.how can you be a boxing fan and be mad at him and hating on him for doing something that you didn't do which is bringing boxing back to network television? is the first run and it had three million viewers I personally no people who'd casually why sasupport that tuned into it in which I was surprised to hear that they were even going to watch it because it wasn't a big name fight... It's like always coming up with problems but never bringing solutions to the table. He did more than what you did. is the fact that people hate Bob Arum because of his association with Mayweather someone even posted that they prefer Don King a murderer as well as Bob Arum with all the shady s*** he is done, get real
I not care much about Haymon-Pacquiao. You might think I love Haymon because he bring Kameda brothers over to USA. I care more about the fight he gives us rather than who he is. If he gives us good fight, good match up and good product I will like. If instead he gives rubbish match up I dislike. Also if he over pay fighter and his model collapse then he to blame. He pay Broner more money than he need for Gonzalez Vs Estrada II. Waste big money on man like Broner and I not be fan.
