"I think that he’s[Mayweather] probably not the same fighter he is when he fought me but he’s smart. He’s a very smart fighter you know what I’m saying? You watch his business, the way he handles his business, the way he handles his fights; he’s very, very smart that’s one thing you can’t never take away from him. He knows what he’s doing.”

Okay, it seems this was a negative statement. I wonder if Judah is referring to his legs, going back to the comments people have said that they're heavier, slower.

Zab Judah recently caught up with Thaboxingvoice.com to talk about Floyd Mayweather Jr(47-0, 26KO’s) ahead of his long-awaited meeting with Manny Pacquiao(57-5-2, 38KO’s) on May 2nd in Las Vegas.

Judah and Mayweather met way back in 2006, with Judah gaining enough success through his speedy left-handed approach for people to point to that performance as a possible indicator for Manny’s success in this upcoming fight. Judah gradually succumbed to the accuracy of a prime Mayweather over the twelve rounds, and feels that although Mayweather isn’t quite the same nowadays, he has other outstanding qualities that ameliorate his slight physical slide.

“I think that he’s probably not the same fighter he is when he fought me but he’s smart. He’s a very smart fighter you know what I’m saying? You watch his business, the way he handles his business, the way he handles his fights; he’s very, very smart that’s one thing you can’t never take away from him. He knows what he’s doing.”

Mayweather’s business smarts made him the highest paid athlete in the world in 2014, and a lot of people believe he has waited until just the right time to dismiss the threat Manny Pacquiao presents to his stature, as the Filipino superstar has not looked quite as fierce in the last few years as he once did when this fight was first proposed. So do not equate the difficulty he experiences reading aloud with a lack of intelligence because there is plenty of evidence to the contrary.

Who has been there with speed? Within reason. I can only name Pacquiao and Bradley off the top of my head.
