Just Because An Opponent Has Lost Or Isn't A Name Doesn't Invariably Make Them A Bum.

True, you make some good points.

Conversely just because a boxer has built up a big name and has never lost doesn't necessarily make him a legend either.

To get anywhere in the pros a boxer does, of course, need ability and talent, however if that fighter is well in with a manager who is well in a promotional company who is well in with an alphabet organisation, chances are he will have a more high profile career. He will likely have to prove himself at some point, but often not until he is already well established.

Bringing on a young prospect and matching him up appropriately can be a tricky business. A lot of promising boxers take losses or simply don't get anywhere at all due to mismanagement, being over matched too early or because they are denied opportunities.

Compare, for example, the route to the top for someone like Hagler and the way it happened for Leonard. Hagler was denied time and again, whereas Leonard had every opportunity he could have hoped for.

There is a lot of corruption behind the scenes in boxing, however, I do believe that on the whole the best fighters in any era do find a way to break through one way or the other. Nonetheless who makes it and who doesn't isn't always straightforward.

The word eurobum is a great word. I think it was created because of all the arrogant(mostly British) Europeans who overrate their guys with no shame.

Almost every single ATG has a few losses on their resume. It's the nature of the sport. Some of them only lost at the tail-end of their careers after old age caught up to them.

I don't look down/negatively at a great fighter if they lost. Just look at Pacman- he went on a 7-8 year run without a loss before he was KO'd by Marquez. Like a true champ, he's come back and solidified himself as one of the very best fighters in the sport P4P.

What makes a true ATG is that they are willing to fight anyone and not duck fighters

Don't quote me you weirdo. Almost every ATG fighter can be accused of ducking prime fighters in their era. Once again, it's the nature of the beast; rarely does every ATG fighter fight EVERY possible guy out there outside of maybe Harry Greb and Henry Armstrong.

Even the great Ray Robinson was accused of avoiding the black murderer's row- specifically the great Burley and Cocoa Kid. We're talking about the Sugar man, so if fans/media can accuse him of ducking guys, than nobody's resume is safe from being criticized.

You are some kind of tool. I feel so sorry for your family (if you actually have one.) If you're this much of an annoyance just in a forum, I can only imagine what you must be like in real life. Now I get it, you post all day and all night here, probably in your mother's basement, and avoid socializing with real people because more than likely you'd be getting your ass kicked on an hourly basis.

You are really one pathetic human being. Sad to see such a waste of life.

I find it really funny you were the one who quoted me in the other thread if you can not get youre emotions involved without giving a reply its better for you to shut up:lol:

Like I said its better to leave you're emotions of a forum wishing death or resorting to family insults shows that you have taken it to anther level I couldn't care less about a forum users personal life.:hi:

No fighter is a bum, and to those who use that word to describe a professional boxer, you are not a real boxing fan and certainly not a fighter.
