Dont think McTigue belongs, Levinsky and Dillon should be closer-and I still want Clarke!
The Berlenbach, Slattery, Delaney group seem too high IMO but I've never did an in depth ****ysis of them. O'Brien should be up there I think. Why was Fitz omitted? I'm sure you have a good reason.

It's said that the Snipes fight hurt him, that's the legend - i've no particular reason to doubt that based upon what i've seen. I take it that's your position?

Very nice shout - a name I hadn't considered. I promise you a close look at him in comparison to Knight and Olin at some point in the next few days.

Berlenbach, Scozza, Loughran and Siki is nice, nice for core wins, even if Loughran was green. You're concerned by the losses?

I'm gonna look really really hard at Clark and see what can or cannot be done. I'll do a job on him, same as I have planned with Langford. I want him too, i'm just having some difficulty with the rules I've set myself.

O'Brien and Fitz are hurt by the cut off point, as detailed in post #2:

Time: Fights fought before 1903 aren't counted. There are other arguable dates, I know, but this is the one i've gone for for better or worse. It excludes a lot of guys, and happily coincides with the emergence of boxing on film in earnest. Hooray!

Clark has to go in, you're right Matt, you're right. I'll take out Miske I think, but I'm going to wait on that. Until i've had a proper proper look. Mina is in too, Drew.

McTigue was lucky v Siki, Berlenbach I think overratted, Loughran was green but you know, it was a good win, but Tommy walked the series. Scouza, well a hundred guys have wins like that. Get the drift in Fitz, O'Brien, Choynski. Pity cos McCoy, Root and Gardiner were worth a tier place. Mina a good pick, I was thinking of a case for Peralta but Mina, Yes.

McTigue's "luck" against Siki is a little overstated I think. The weight of evidence does favour Siki by my eye, but I think it sounds closer when you read about it than you would perhaps expect it to given the legend. No?

What about Flowers? Bogash, McTigue, Frank Moody, the draw with Rosenbloom...you'd have him above McTigue?

I tell you, overall this is a very strong point. It will be interesting to see if Conn takes a tumble under the rules i've set myself - and if Lewis might not end up ranked above him after all.

Lloyd Marshall got a bump. He did extraordinary work and was ranked for a decade.

having hopkins and kovalev on the same tier seems wrong to me.

Off of your original list I felt Marshall, Gaindez and Conteh all deserved a bump.

Well Conteh did excellent work in the top five. But the only lineal champ he ever beat was the shot Rondon, I believe. Comparing him to Marshall - Marshall beat two lineal champs (Christoforidis, Mills) and he beat ****ing Ezzard Charles. There's clear water there IMO.

Galindez - I have some sympathy, but i'm not convinced he belongs above the likes of Stribling, who beat multiple champs. There are some circumstances there but his core resume is absurd. I think he is in good company. More than that - Bivins, Johnson, Gibbons are the guys above...

Yes. I think it was a dreadful error ....like delusions of grandeur. Eddie got carried away and forgot that he was a natural lightheavyweight....not a heavy.
He both looked and fought foolishly, although Snipes appeared unsure of himself at times and granted Eddie much respect. I don't think Eddie was ever the same after this misguided foray.....and paid for it.

I've never actually seen the Snipes fight.
