An IBF title heavyweight eliminator, the winner here likely gets to meet Wlad. Glazkov is ranked #7 by ring magazine. Cunningham is older, but can still box. Could be a good match up. I like Glazkov to win via late round TKO.
USS circles the Czar and riddles him with punches. Deserves a decision but might not atsch get the decision.
Right...USS was able to outbox the old plodder Monsour with his reach speed heart advantage. VS Glaskov, he'll be eating jabs and 1-2s until Glaskov cuts off the ring and stops him in a corner. Not gonna be no miracle comebacks for USS in this fight. But sadly, Glaskov is so inconsistent, Im afraid he'll not be a highly credible undefeated title defense for Wlad, even though his resume is comparable to even Potvetkins. :think
USS can won, but I think he will have to win decisively to cement a win...he's been on the losing end of some bad judging in his career. Hopefully he can pull a few extra rounds off to get the nod. USS is always in good condition and he has a very good workrate. Saying that I can see him out working and out jabbing Glaskov to a decision.i Crossing my fingers though when the announcer reads the score cards
Glazkov has good all around ability, but you're right he can be inconsistent. I think Ring Magazine has him in the right spot. #7 in the world.
At least he stays in shape. But he doesnt adapt well when a fighter adapts to him. He looked lost vs Malik Scott, and when Adamek adapted to Glaskovs offense, he was damned near able to stop him. Glaskovs gonna win this one, then he'll get Wladimir, but he'll never acheive his full potential b/c he's not being trained to adapt and has no plan B or C for when the opponent fights differently than what he trained for. Check out the Rossy fight. Damn......you almst had to root for DR in that one simply for hanging with a world level talent.:roll::roll:
I agree.. He does just about everything right, but only has one gear, and really once you're able to figure him out he just doesn't adapt. John David Jackson said he's still working on getting the bad amateur habits out of Glazkovs game, and making his style more suitable for the pros. Hope Glazkov can make the adjustments needed to remain relevant in the division, because he has the talent...
I think the Czar wikkl be brutally overthrown on Saturday, Steve has been looking very sharp in his last few fights, he looked amazing against Mansour in spite of the 2 brutal KD's and he completely shut Visina out. And Glazkov has yet to show me he's anywhere near world class yet. I just hope Cunningham doesn't et robbed.
Glaskov has looked like a world beater in some of his fights. But again, like UnleashTheFury says, he seems to have that amateur mentality of scoring points and not going for the kill. In his favor going into the USS fight, luckily, he won't need to go for the kill since USS' survival mode consists of going to war, of which Glaskov should have no troubles ending. Now, if USS fights smartly, behind the jab, holds or runs when he;s buzzed, rather than going after Glaskov, then maybe this one does see the cards, but USS is a warrior, and he's gonna wanna go out like one......swinging. And He's got nothing on Glaskov in terms of hurting power. Glaskov TKO8.:thumbsup
I think he's definitely proved he's world class by beating Adamek(albeit a faded, but still game version) He exposed touted prospect Tor Hamer, lots of people on here predicted Hamer would beat Glazkov... Kind of funny in hindsight. Also has wins over high level journeymen like Oloukun, Airich, Bakhtov. You don't consistently beat those kind of opponents without being a top 30 HW. Even though he had a bad night against an increasingly game Rossy, I thought he won clearly.. BJ Flores seems to hate Glazkov, he also had Adamek winning their fight, even giving clear Glazkov rounds to Adamek. I suggest everyone who scored the fight for Rossy to watch it on mute, Flores may have swayed you with his bias.... Anyways, the only blemish on his record was the Draw to Scott, which he should have obviously lost but it was a lot closer than some make it out to be. Think Glazkov has the skills, it's just about putting them together... I'm thinking he proves you guys wrong this weekend, and makes a few more fans with a career best performance. We'll see.....
I wholly agree....except about the Scott L. I gave Glaskov 4 rds. 116-112 was a fair score for both. I think making the fight 117-111 for Scott would be fair as well as 118-110. But anything closer than 116-112 is tough to score.:thumbsup
And yeah, I believe Czar will absolutely toy with, then destroy USS, and he should rightfully earn some respect for such.:good
