Well, if they put him in the ring with GGG it would be a mistake anyway. So I wouldn't base it off that.

Golovkin is Cotto's mandatory, but it appears that Cotto will give up his title rather than fight Golovkin......................Roach will never allow him to come near Golovkin and Cotto the same. Cotto knows he would have no chance against Golovkin...............

I just feel he should have stayed a promotional free agent and remained unattached to any promoter. At this point in his career his fights would be big anyway, and there is no point in him fighting tuneups in between massive paydays so he'd find practically no use for hype jobs where the promoter would try to sell a gimme fight to the public as a buildup to a more credible and meaningful fight down the road. Though Cotto isn't exactly a spring chicken, he still has enough years to have meaningful fights--but only if he doesn't engage in tuneups against Joe Nobody.

Signing a multi-fight deal at this stage of his career, ain't gonna be a smart business move for Roc Nation. It's like when a football club signs an old player on a 3 year contract for big books, when they can barely last one.

Not liking the chances of the Alvarez fight happening.

New coming promoters tend to struggle to get a good relationship going with other promoters.

He got paid $50 million for 3 fights. Screw what he does now. That's a good deal for himself

I hope Cotto doesn't hurt his warrior mentality by fighting Rod Salka level characters

I heard it's going to be K9 next which is an atrocious fight, but he's getting (over)paid well for it. So it is a masterstroke imo
