Povetkin might make it to the 3rd round, depending on Georges mood but I doubt it, this would be the epitome of a mismatch.. Povetkin has never done anything in his career, or beaten anyone of any significance to lead me to believe he would even be competitive in a fight with GF:-(..
Foreman at his best wins. Povetkin could make a good showing, as he's durable with a good chin and heart.
Povetkin would have to get past the early rounds but he took some hard shots vs Vlad and stood up, Foreman would be more aggressive than Vlad but Foreman was also easier to hit with right hands than Vlad is. Both men close in height and weight and I think Alex hits harder than Ron Lyle. It depends on how much damage Foreman can inflight early, my suggestion to A.P. would be to be careful but let Foreman feel your power early and get inside like Lyle did but be more defensive than Lyle. This is a fight that I would lean with Big G but would not be surprised if A.P. won it.
It really is amazing how just 3 or 4 years ago we were all griping about how **** poor the heavyweight division is, and now some are giving the second or third best guy in it a chance to beat a prime George Foreman.
New Foreman or Old? Tho I agree Povetkin would need a good trainer cuz if he works as he has to this point Foreman is going to like it.
It wasn't long ago that Povetkin was thought of as a joke paper champ fighting nothing men who then went life and death with a basic clubber who came up from Cruiser. Since he knocked out two average men , he has become the best thing ever. I like Povetkin but this era of heavies just don't compare to the ones of past greater era's. He deserves all the credit for getting back to world title status so quickly. I doubt Pulev will be knocking at the door of a world title shot anytime in the present future.
Pulev can't draw flies and foolishly opted to not pay the sanctioning fees for any of the belts on the line vs Wlad except the IBF strap. I think that action combined with his inability to draw has nullified any fast movement up the rankings again. If he is ever to get another title shot it's going to take a long journey.
Jeez Louise if this goon Povetkin (who couldn't even stay on his feet against WK), in the most hideous heavyweight title fight I have ever seen, the 2nd or even 3rd best Heavyweight in the World:-(, , then I can seriously see why most Americans have basically said F@ck off to the fight game, and have abandoned the Heavyweight division altogether.. Povetkin is nothing, Foreman would have knocked him cold with his jab alone, he would have been a prime Foreman's sparring partner if he's lucky...
