Im glad you mentioned the W-word!
Was it just me or did Wazzen come across as being overly critical and dismissive in his attitude towards paul in the ringside interview post-fight?

I detected a certain 'coldness' from Wazzen towards Paul that I didnt like much to be honest. Cheers.

I have never seen a picture of him where he looks ripped. To me he looks as though there are a few pounds that could be shed, maybe that is just his body type, like Bellew, where they don't have any muscle definition, I maybe wrong but I think he could lose a few pounds still.

Theres a few percent to go then , Frampton gets down to 2% and Most get to 4 or 5% ,Rather than coming back to fight nicaraguan pig farmers there is good domestic fights to be made in yafai satchell and Butcher

I'd say maybe two warm up fights, then maybe take aim at Kono.

From a fan's point of view, I don't like the thinking behind this. It privileges cherry picking, ducking and smart matching over decent, competitive matches. If you ask me that undermines the basic principle of boxing, which is pitching two comparable and ranked fighters against each other and seeing who is best. No other sport corrupts this basic sporting principle with clever matching like boxing does. You don't see Man Utd cherry picking the weaker teams to win the Premiership. They have to play all the teams to prove themselves the best.

Going in to that fight, Butler vs Tete was a highly competitive, pick em fight, just the sort of fights we want to see. It was meaningful because it was a risk. I say let's have more of them, not less. We should applaud Butler's courage, not blame the management for the defeat.

There was a full 3 part series building up to the avalos fight showing you his training upto the weigh in , he gets his bodyfat right down and does the weight in lean muscle , gets in serious shape

I'll have to watch that, because at 2% fat your practically a walking corpse.

I never used words like cherry picking and ducking. I am a fan too. I disapprove of those things as much as anyone. I enjoy competitive fights as much as the next guy.
I advocated smart matchmaking. Hardly a crime.
When going into uncharted waters, a guy should do it gradually.
Fight a very freakishly tall , but poor quality opponent or two BEFORE taking on Tete who is both freakishly tall, freakish reach and a is very good tough boxer to boot. It was all a bit too much in one go for Paul. That's all I'm saying.
