How does that tell you that Roy would have been knocked out?

We know that Kov is a savage puncher.

But we also know the great offensive attributes that Roy possessed.

When was Roy knocked out? At 35, after coming back from HW after he'd slowed down.

If you look at him when he was at his peak, you're looking at Roy at 25 years of age, from 1994. That's not the version of Roy who Tarver and Johnson fought.

How would Kov have coped with Roy's speed? I've no doubt at all that Roy could have found him. Roy possessed the speed and power to have made Kov cautious. It's too easy to just focus on Kov's power and Roy's knockout defeats. There's many other factors to consider before you come to that conclusion.

    IF he'd landed it.

But Roy certainly had a shot at dropping Kov. He had blinding speed, and threw unorthodox shots with one punch knockout power. He knocked out Griffin and Hill with single shots who weighed in the 180's.

Kov may have more power, but he didn't have Roy's variation.

Roy was offensively and defensively a better fighter than Kov.

He'd had to have been the favourite going into the fight.

Why do you think Jones was better defensively?

Roy had no defense, he relied completely on his athleticism and reflexes to get out of the way of shots. Once those dimmed.... Well...... You know what happened.

I felt he relied on reflex as a defence. A small novice LHW in Griffin was able to land time and again, so I think a top LHW like Kovalev would be able to land consistently also. Watching how Del Valle had Jones hurt, I think Kovalev would be able to follow up if he landed that shot

Savage puncher couldn't even put away 50 yr old Hopkins. Not to mention Kovalev isn't packing iron himself. He wouldn't have touched prime Jones !

You think that Carl Froch would have beaten a prime Roy as well.

I think you do it to wind up the Roid boys.
