    If you want to see a slippery surface with a flash knockdown in which the fighter was entirely unhurt, look no further than Hagler / Roldan.

    That jab to the body in and out with feints won't be enough against a prime RJJ.

    The thing with Kovalev he offset Hopkins from the get go. Hopkins just found it hard to anticipate to throw a landing punch on Kovalev. Kovalev kept at a good range.

    That gameplan he used was perfect for a fighter like Hopkins. But against a fighter with a lot more rhythm and athleticism he would have trouble.

    RJJ seemed much harder to anticipate and figure out in his prime than Kovalev does in his prime now.

    RJJ was like a much more complete version of Andre Ward with a bigger skill set and more tricks in his ****nal. RJJ also had great power something Ward does not have.

    RJJ's boxing ability would be too much for Kovalev and because he has power that's his equalizer. I think without RJJ's power it would be much more competitive but still pretty much a mismatch in favour of RJJ.

    That was a clear slip that didn't have much to do with a punch.. Hagler was not hurt at all. Perfect example.:good

    Roy wins but it isnt the most confident pick.

    Kovalev is very very good.

    I know we're basically 20 years out from prime Roy, but seriously. I think Kovalev is without a doubt the best LHW currently. But current Kovalev vs. 1997 Roy. Roy in and out, Roy speed and angles, Roy's power. And no Roy didn't show any kinks in his chin at that time even when he got hit.

    Of course I saw the fight live. Jones went down with 48 seconds remaining in the round, the action resumed with 37 seconds to go, and he did NOTHING but hold on until the bell rang. So don't tell me he wasn't hurt you moronic piece of s.h.i.t.

    Try looking at what happened when Hagler GENUINELY slipped on a wet surface and was NOT HURT in the Roldan fight, then come back with more of your usual c.r.a.p.

    I almost wish the Hagler slip wasn't ruled a knock down.. But technically he was punched as he was going down.

    The Roldan KD was bogus. That said, as great as Hagler's chin was, he was definitely feeling the weight of some of Roldan's bombs, as would any member of our species when cracked that hard, regardless how much iron they were packing in their mandible section.

    Yeah, amazing chin. He used to scare me as a child. Even though he was definitely intimidating and menacing, he seemed a lot nicer person than I remembered him when I took a look back in retrospect as an adult. lol

    I love both him and Roldan actually. Great fight! Both were beastly with a capital B. I have a bit of a soft spot for Argentine fighters.

    I was a little too young to experience a prime Hagler, but he still scares me a little.:lol:

    I never watched too much of Roldan, but I will probably go back and watch some more whenever I can find time.

    On a side note, I don't think it is a coincidence Hagler's name features a G.:lol::yep
