Golovkin Vs Monroe

I wonder if anyone knows what we are talking about

 

I'm a GGG fan but this sucks. Can't K2 pony up enough money to fight Abraham or Stieglitz in Germany? Or Froch in UK?

They are wasting GGG's prime with these tune up fights.

 

For a stay busy fight it is ok, nothing spectacular though. Considering the other options at MW right now and GGG' activity level I am not too sad about the fight.

Hope that his next HBO date is against a bigger name, I would like too see him vs. Lemieux this year.

Oh and Monroe is probably going to wake up in the hospital after the fight.

 

An ok fight but let's face it , it's not golovkin's fight cotto won't fight him

 

Not horrible IMO because Golovkin fights so often.

 

I like Monroe, feel bad he has to take this beating.

Can't believe I am saying this but I agree with fruit punch in that if GGG can't get Cotto in the ring this year for the linear title, he has to move up to super middle.

 

Didn't realize there were two threads. My thoughts.

Monroe's lone loss is to the Conqueror of Adonis, "Deezol" Boone, which was two fights after he went to a decision with Krusher (both Boone-Kovalev and Boone-Monroe were SDs). I'm on board with the fight, if nothing else we'll see how GGG handles a slick southpaw (probably like handles 'em all, I suppose).

I see a good deal of criticism of GGG's opponents but he just mowed down a top MW and 3 months later is slated to take on a top 25 guy (and he'll fight again shortly afterwards).

Johnson is probably on stand by if Monroe pulls out with an injury? They usually have one or two guys on reserve if the original opponent pulls out when you get to the stage GGG is on.

 

another inspring choice of opponents...man, are we lucky to have ggg in this generation. he truly is a warrior of the highest order...certainly better than joe louis and marvin hagler as many others have noted on these boards.

 

These 'stay busy' fights for ggg can't go on forever.

 

Don't know why you bother with the guy, his criticism is flatout racially motivated and he would still ***** if GGG would KO1 Klitschko

 

What does Joe Louis one of the best irish fighters ever and Marvin Hagler arguably the greatest italian fighter of all time have to do with anything????????????
