no athlete from dempseys time stands any chance against a top athlete today. in any sport. they wouldn't even be average today.
Tunney was only one of the most highly skilled boxers of all time during his time. Nowadays plenty of boxers have his skills. In fact, some are even more skilled than he was by a significant margin.
He'd be facing a light heavyweight, wlad wouldn't have any problems with his mental strength in this one.
Virtually no heavyweight active today (barring Klitschko, and maybe Takam and Jennings) is a top athlete.
You would favor Dempsey over Usyk, Beterbiev or Kovalev?????atschatschatsch OMG......one of the best posters/writers in the sport, and he DKSAB????:---(
I'm not talking about paying humble lip service, though. There's video of young Tyson watching Dempsey and you can plainly see visible on his face how intimidated and in awe he was.
You need to reread what you just quoted, and fast...because you're looking incredibly foolish about now. Usyk, Beterbiev and Kovalev are heavyweights now, are they?
Beterbiev comes in close to 195ish, while both Usyk and Huck enter over 210. Yeah, they'd be HWs compared to Dempsey, who feasted on farmboys, dock-workers, and beer backs. You are maybe the best writer on this forum, but you must have a little Bert Sugar in ya to be so blinded the low quality video available from the period. You do realize that those old 8mm films from the 20s and 30s are playing at like 180% speed right, and they're not real time. JK.....you're the m'er f'n man IB. I know you know that even a guy like Julius Long would KO 1 Dempsey.:good:good
