I am starting a campaign for Lara to move up in weight and become mandatory for GGG.

So he has Geale, Rubio and Murray so far with Monroe being number 4. If I'm interpreting that correctly, Lara could fight GGG after this next fight.

This would be a great opportunity for GGG to fight on NBC or CBS since Lara is managed by Al Haymon
    and he gave GGG hell

Incorrect, it is 4 fights on US soil. So he is still in contract with HBO after May 16th.

An honest question though - if Lara is serious about making the fight, why does he not get move up and fight a Haymon managed 160 guy first?

Lara is not a viewer commodity at this time, but if he got Jacob's under-strap and called out GGG as mandatory then HBO would license the fight. Haymon would basically get money from HBO, with little risk to his overall plan and possible big upside if one of his guys could dethrone GGG... and I do think out of his guys Lara probably has the best shot at that.

The guy who lost to Molina, looked very beatable against Martirosyan and Angulo, and was terrified of Alvarez is going to move up in weight to fight THE best middleweight in the world.

Nobody should take his $h1t talking serious. It's his only way of entertaining these days.

well Lara wants to fight everybody. He wants Keith Thurman, Canelo II, Andrade, Cotto, Mayweather as well as GGG. He's not putting all of his eggs into 1 basket. Lara would quickly move up and fight GGG in his first fight at 160. GGG offered to fight Rosado at a catchweight

 Inbreeder. You use GGG novice fights where he wins
every round in 1 and gets the tko in the other, but looked
a little vulnerable. You homeboys are pathetic losers. Deal
with it. The champ of middleweight division is white. The
p4p #1 fighter according an HBO poll is white. Deal with it
    and accept it. Aight?

Yeah, Lara will certainly fight Golovkin - or anyone. I personally do not doubt that for a second.

Honestly, I think Quillin would as well. Lots of the troll-counter troll around here tends to muddy the waters so to speak. My basic point is Haymon runs all these guys' careers... and is difficult if not impossible to work with for outside promoters. Unless the outside promoter is giving his guy a PPV opportunity.

As long as HBO stays in boxing, I don't see GGG joining the PBC. It sucks but it is what it is. (that many fights don't get made, not that HBO is staying in boxing !)

The thing is, Lara would be the highest rated p4p (top 20-30) opponent Golovkin has ever fought, and besides Rosado believe it or not, is probably the most known opponent to the American market (despite not being popular) he has fought as well.

A KO win over him would be multiple times more meaningful then a win over Munroe jr or whoever it is G is fighting next.

The thing is, team Golovkin should 'want' this fight. If they wanted this fight, they would at least try to make it happen. Instead they kinda use the network excuse to brush Lara aside. Obviously nobody in their right mind thinks Golovkin wouldn't fight Lara, but I just think its a bad move for team G.

There will always be an excuse to avoid fighting another fighter. Just remember that. Some fighters use excuses, others try to overcome those obstacles (Hopkins)

Now, had they tried to make the Lara fight happen and they just couldn't get around the network situation, I would say well at least they tried. They are dismissing the whole thing based on Lara being GBP and SHO, when that obstacle has been overcome in the past, and they don't even know the details to Lara's exclusivity.

All Im saying is next time you want to claim one fighter is being ducked or that Golovkin is being ducked, just remember what other instances of avoiding you have defended for such n such a reason, and then remember that every fighter has reasons that are legitimate to them for not facing another fighter. Whether it be money to risk ratio, networks, ect.

You either tolerate avoidance or you don't.

In this case Golovkin is fighting a lower ranked p4p fighter who has done less and is less known then the guy calling him out.

The issue is Lara team not actually interested in making the fight. K2 said get approved by HBO, I don't consider that a brush off. Wanting Lara team to contact HBO and smooth that out doesn't seem unreasonable.

Of course this is just a rehash of stuff said a year ago, as far as I can tell other than an occasional retweet of a fan saying something Team Lara has been pretty quiet about GGG. They were far more vocal about making a Cotto fight, which Lara would IMO win handily and have made Golovkin mandatory to Lara. Then Cotto signed with Roc and that went silent as well.

Haymon vs K2 purse bid would have been.... interesting to see play out.

Fair enough, I can see that angle for sure. If Lara wants the fight have his team clear the obstacles that may be in place with SHO and HBO and try to get the ball rolling. And if team Lara was serious about fighting G they would do that. Until then its all talk. :good

I do still think team G should push for this fight as I think it does more for him then a fight against Munroe does, though.
