Offers? Cotto and his team haven't even responded to Triple G and Loeffer's request, and Gennady is his mandatory. They've made no inclination in wanting the fight to happen. But they have to if they don't want to be seen as cowards and then have to relinquish that belt.

Lacy was an overhyped bum, and Kessler(well look how he turned out).

If you really want to fight the champ, make an offer. No real offer, no duck. Cotto is hardly a coward, he has moved up in weight and fought highly ranked P4P fighters, that's more courageous than anything GGG has done as a pro boxer.

They were the guys to beat and he beat them to become #1 in his division. 2007 Kessler is better than anyone GGG has beaten.

You can't discuss terms if one fighter is not even willing to listen to your offer. Cotto HAS to fight Triple G or vacate. If he does the latter, he'll be exposed as the coward he is.

Kesser is nothing more than a gate keeper fighter. He loses to Froch, Ward, Dirrel brothers, Degale, and Groves. Yet you consider that a great win.

Maybe if he made a formal offer, it would be listened to. Talk is cheap.

I consider it the best win possible in the division at the time and a better win than any on GGG's resume.

You can't discuss terms of a fight if the other side shows no interest in what you have to say. What are you going to say when Cotto is forced to vacate his title for not fighting Triple G? I think Froch won't fight Triple G in the end but AT LEAST Eddie Hearn and Tom Loeffler have discussed the possiblity of one and Froch has wayed in on the possible fight between them, so where's Cotto and his people? Is he going to be fighting a non MW in June? Cotto has lossed respect from many fans and his legacy will be tarnished forever if he sucks Triple G.

Send him an offer in writing if you are serious.

Not much, not much needs to be said. Cotto is at the tail end of his career. If he were to vacate his title it just shows what everybody already knows - Cotto isn't a middleweight, he used to fight at 140lbs and has never fought at 160lbs

Idk weighing up their options and waiting for real offers maybe? I believe Cotto has said he will fight GGG if they decide that is what's best for him.

    Who knows?

If he sucks him, yes he might lose some respect (like some people on this forum) but if he vacates the title, no as everybody knows he's punching above his weight at MW.

Then he should announce he's vacating the belt right now. So everyone will know he was afraid to fight Triple G or any other MW looking for a chance to win that belt. Also you can send any amount of offers to one side, but if they're not responding or acknowledging those offers, it shows they're not interested. As long as he holds that lineal belt, it doesn't matter what's best for him. If he and his team view themselves as not wanting to fight Triple G or the other MWs, simply drop the belt right now and stop the speculation right then and there.

Roach has said that Cotto's advisor has not even mentioned Triple G as a possible opponent, strange since Triple G is his mandatory. Cotto "might" face Triple G, it's NOT a choice if he wants to keep that belt.

In the days of most fighters fighting twice a year, I'm not going to hate on any fighter for staying busy.

I think everyone - fan or hater of GGG - wants him to fight a top fighter but until one of those fights is available, I'm happy for him to keep doing what he's doing.

Re: Cotto, he's never been afraid to fight anyone but, at this stage of his career, I can understand his handlers steering him away from GGG. As a fan, it's horrible to think the champion will likely never fight the top contender but I think GGG only gets that belt if Cotto loses or vacates. I'd love to be wrong though.

    You don't say.

Then you admit that Cotto will vacate the belt, rather than fight Triple G. Cotto is ducking Triple G, it's already hurting his legacy and will continue to do so if he vacates.

No, where did I say that? I have no idea what Cotto will do, he may not even know himself yet.

No he isn't ducking him as no formal offer has been made or is GGG ducking Lara and Ward because they called him out?

Vacating will not harm his legacy and I have already explained why.

Formal offer? How would you know what Loeffler wrote or said when he contacted Cotto's people. Cotto wants to fight a non MW in his next fight. Instead of Cotto will be fighting ? And Triple G having to settle for a lesser opponent, boxing fans are once again left to dry.

Also you are in the clear minority, most people view Cotto as being afraid to take on Triple G. His legacy is shot.
