Monroe is probably the best opponent they could get. Cotto obviously doesn't want to face him and all the other top middleweights are fighting around that time. I think Golovkin should be applauded for staying busy and fighting three to four times a year, don't you? If he were only fighting twice a year like Mayweather, Pacquiao, Klitschko, et al., I could see your point. But, come on, give the guy a break.

He is being active so it's a good thing that he is fighting often, but HBO cannot justify him fighting on HBO with this guy and not do it for others now.

In addition, K9 vs. Monroe.... K9 is a better opponent.....

So all GGG fans who come up on Cotto for fighting K9 in June cannot say anything.

As I mentioned, in all honesty because GGG is so active, I do not mind the fight. But, they cannot say that they couldn't find a better opponent than Monroe.... that is just not true.

If Cotto was fighting Monroe in June, most GGG fans would have a panic attack lol

 

i wouldn't. if he isn't going to vacate the belt at least Monroe is a middleweight, and might just beat Cotto's ass. and not a 'panic attack', maybe a temper tantrum.

 

Yeah Monroe would beat Cotto just as a 50% Martinez was going to KO Cotto, and destroy him.
