Most of Tyson's opponents are bigger and yet they fall like timber.

    David Haye vs Sugar Nicky

David damaged his hand so he couldn't slay the Goliath.

In what ways do we measure "the much smaller man?" Is this by in-ring weight only? Because if we are going by the weigh in, then only HW examples will truly count. Are we using height and reach as the primary factors? Are we using a criteria of what weight classes they compiled their past experiences in?

What is the criteria and the balance of each measurable?

Here are some recent ones which may or may not apply...

Alexander Povetkin vs. Charr and Takam
-Povetkin an inch+ shorter than both and gave up 25 lbs. to each, he clearly gunned for stoppages and especially in the Takam war was going for the KO at whatever costs, it seemed

Sergio Martinez vs. Williams I and II
-Sergio was an unknown quality at MW but in his first bout there fought Williams tough and nearly won in an epic war, for the rematch Sergio accomplished what was clearly on the agenda the first go around and that was a devastating KO

Juan Manuel Marquez vs. Pacquiao IV
-Marquez was 0-2 above JWW while Pac was a veteran of 7 fights above JWW however Marquez showed up with a gameplan of scoring a right hand stoppage from the start

    Nonito Donaire vs. Walters
-Donaire began his career at 112 and was only 2-0 at Featherweight, he fought aggressively and the knockout itself came while Donaire lunged forward with a wailing alternating hook combo fail

    Floyd Mayweather vs. Ortiz
-Ortiz outweighed Mayweather in the ring by a visible 14 pounds; 150 lbs. to 164 lbs, yet Mayweather fought offensively from the get go, walked him down, and went out aggressive in that fourth and final

    Jason Litzau vs. Caballero
-Cab wasn't going to be easily knocked out but it seemed that Litzau was throwing some serious leather in a surprisingly inspired performance, while it was Cab moving up in weight it was also Cab with all the massive physical tools

Pac actually broke Margaritos eye socket and he needed surgery after the fight.

It's a rare sight for sure. Pacquiao is lucky to be blessed with some once in a lifetime physical gifts to fight the way he does. Any other fighter would routinely get their ass beat.

i meant the lower division not the heavyweight division..................:hi:

pac FORCED the stoppage over margo and bear in mind how small he was in comparison to margo when you see cotto running and boxing him in the rematch it shows you how great pac's performance was.

Pac outboxing margo would of been special enough BUT TO FORCE THE STOPPAGE AND RISK IT THATS AMAZING

    fixed

Margarito was outside of the top 300 P4P, if someone cared to make a list that deep, when Pac fought him. He was utterly unranked at Junior Middleweight. Honestly Pac's least relevant victory going back nearly or beyond a decade! And you pick that fight to continually try to svck off Pac for this thread?!

yea he tried to force the stoppage(thats what i meant hence the title) that in itself was a feat considering the size advantage margo had

the ref should of stopped the fight as well

you just proved you're a hater margo is a beast when you see how cotto was so scared to trade with him in the rematch it really makes pac's victory that much better

Cotto won every round against Margarito in the rematch and actually did force the stoppage. What in the world are you talking about? Just because a fighter moves forward is all it takes to qualify him as a "beast?"

Margo had a massive weight advantage over pac he looked like a light heavy in there compared to manny:yep

Most fighters he size would try to box margo (they would still end up getting stopped)

But what did Pacman do ? he tried to force the stoppage showed guts heart, chin, power speed it was just a amazing sight to see a tiny fighter try to force the stoppage over the big beast like margo

    "AND HERE COMES MANNY"

we all know margo was coming on strong and was never hurt he was much more beaten up in the pac fight

the only reason why the fight was stopped was because they didnt want to risk getting that eye permanently damaged (the one pac beat to a bluddy pulp)

He did have a big weight advantage, that's true. I guess it's no surprise you are such a big fan of Mayweather and Pacquiao as they both are routinely outweighed by large margins. Nice...

"most fighters he size would try to box margo (they would still end up getting stopped)" What, like Roberto Garcia one fight before and Miguel Cotto in the rematch one fight after got stopped?!?! Ohhhhhhhhh... OK.

miguel cotto is about the same size

    i got you cornered now

you saying cotto getting that stoppage over margo was legit?

come on you ****ing fool the only reason why they stopped the fight was because that eye already had a history of damage the doctor even said thats the reason why they stopped it fool

margo was not hurt one bit against cotto and was coming strong

cotto is a ***** he was running and trying to rub his glove against margos eye to stop the fight

Pac the much smaller man actualy BEAT MARGO UP unlike cotto
