Fights where the much smaller man tried to force the stoppage?

I genuinely agree with everything you have said here except the "we all know margo was coming on strong." That idea is one of the most ridiculous that I've heard a decent amount of people (must be Margarito fans or have some angle) seem to believe in.

If you think that the Cotto/Margarito II stoppage was bad, then you must be the same clowns saying that Vitali beat Lennox but was utterly robbed. It's called denial and a bit of delusion.

 

You are drawing conclusions from which I did not say.

I know why they stopped the fight. I know that Pac did more physical damage to Margarito then Cotto did. I never said the opposite so I don't know how you came up with this crazy response.

Cotto was targeting the eye from the very start to FORCE that stoppage. And he did.

Just like how some fighters who are facing an opponent with a weak chin target the chin to force the stoppage!

I never once indicated that Cotto's stoppage of Margarito was better than Pac's. Actually, if I've indicated anything in this thread, it's that Pac's win is better.

It is legal to target a cut to force a stoppage. It is legal to target a legal area on your opponent if you sense they are weak there. What is the issue?

Of course Cotto's TKO of Margarito was legit. Did you not see his face?!? If the ref would have stopped Margarito against Pac, that also would have been a legit TKO because his eye was messed up in that fight too.

It actually is one of the single greatest examples there is of "forcing a stoppage."

-He knew Margarito had a bad eye entering the fight and clearly targeted it from round 1.

-The eye immediately began to swell shut and damage.

-Cotto continued to target the eye until the referee was FORCED into STOPPING the fight.
