Sergey Kovalev vs. Jean Pascal & Steve Cunningham vs. Vyacheslav Glazkov RBR

Pascal hasn't beaten a top 15 fighter since Dawson 4-5 years ago I believe. Doesn't take away from Kovalev because he ended it in emphatic fashion and did to Pascal who came to win what no one else has done previously. Also showed Kovalev can take a punch which he needed. Also showed that Pascal is a warrior period much respect to him.

 

What did hopkins say?? Was it a good stoppage in his opinion?

Kovalev anticipates and rides punches very well. He rarely gets caught with a surprise. He's got crazy heavy hands, also.

 

I think he was hurt with a body shot at one point, but on the whole he stood up well to Pascal's incoming.

He is hittable by brave fast fighters, but he's not plodder. He moved around the ring with ease.

 

After seeing Kovalev getting hit by Pascal, Stevenson might finally man up to fight him.

 

It was an early stoppage but not a bad stoppage. Pascal took a lot of shots, and even though he had recovered every other time, those shots take a toll.

 

Much credit to Pascal tossing bombs in complete disregard for his safety

Kovalev has been chinned before though. Just because he's been taking good shots against Pascal doesnt mean he can them off a hitter like Stevenson.
