...or with his corner, and the ref. Simakov was brave & game as hell that day, but ate too many flush power shots from a brutal puncher in Kovalev. He should have been pulled.

Great post, but you have to tell us why you just now started posting after 7 years of complete silence!

Yea, he fights as if he has one punch power, but he doesn't. I wish he was capable of fighting with a higher output. He has no defense, so his offense needs to be his defense, yet his output is so low. He has a good chin, and athleticism, but fights crudely.

I don't know, man, got in the mood. Usually I spend time shaking my head at some of the things being said, but thought I'd throw a few cents in myself, today.

Pascal was badly hurt and taking flush punch after flush punch off a murderous puncher, literally albeit obviously totally unintentional.

Yeah that's unfortunately how it usally goes. The people that are supposed to be there looking out for you don't do their job. Sad thing though is that often it would have been too late anyway. Accidents happen unfortunately.

Pascal being against the ropes, may not have went down for a while. The ref should have stopped the fight prior to that, but he didn't seen Pascal stumbling across the ring.

Disappointing that this thread didn't reach 1,000 replies.

Props to Pascal. He showed heart. Given chance, those few bombs of his that landed could have shaken Kovalev. Pascal is awkward, unpredictible, and was close to win it with that asset.

That said, Kovalev was just way better. Might be p4p (I think he is). I was cheering at the bar for Pascal (being a Quebeker).

I hope Stevenson get beaten up next by Kovalev.
