Probably going to have some form of brain damage regardless. This is boxing...they know the risks.

You should take up knitting. It suits you better than boxing.

This is the kind of attitude that landed Enson Inoue (MMA fighter) in the hospital with brain swelling. Pride FC officials didn't want to stop it, Enson didn't want to give up, and he almost died.

A guy shouldn't have to suffer permanent damage in this sporting past time so that your ideas of manhood are realized in the ring.

After 3 pages of negative replies mine was the one that hurt the most. I like that.

Look at the replay. It was a good stoppage.

Kovalev landed 2 flush punches and Pascal drop his hands. The ref was right there, watching everything. The stoppage was actually perfect.

If the fighter punching wasn't Kovalev, I may have agreed, but this is Kovalev. He's probably the most powerful puncher in boxing and he's killed a man in the ring. The ref made the right choice.

I'm up in the air if the ref had stopped it after Pascal was halfway through the ropes it would have been seen as a good stoppage also but then Pascal took the next 2 rounds. Pascal recovers well but it's just one of those you don't know kind of things. If Kovalev hadn't of slipped and it was stopped when he was pouring down punches on Pascal would of been better. Maybe there will be a rematch but Pascal still gets stopped eventually.

He was a headless chicken, unless you actually want to see someone die on tv you have to stop it when someone is in that much trouble. I'm as bloodthirsty as the next guy but I don't actually want to see someone executed!

Pabon (the ref) even managed to slow play it for Pascal's home crowd...and Pascal still couldn't come close to getting it together in time. Kovalev still had a full round to damage on Pascal, I shudder to imagine what would've happened had it been allowed to continue.

When Kovalev slipped and the camera was on him, the audience didn't see what happened to Pascal. He stumbled from one corner to the next on rubbery legs.

Kovalev pointed at Pascal and laughed just before the ref resumed the fight. When the fight was resumed, Pascal was still out, that's why Kovalev landed the last 2 right hands with such ease.

Pascal was out on his feet before the slip and the 2 final punches just about put him away for good.
