    He wasn't hit clean quite often. He was extremely hard to hit clean often.

    Is your basis for picking Kov, just that he hit harder than the guys who hit Roy?

    How can you completely overlook Roy's offense, and how Kov may have reacted to it?

    How can you overlook Roy's blinding speed, and the way Caparello dropped him when he was open?

    Regarding Roy's absolute prime, yes, I believe it was while he was at SMW. But he was still prime at LHW in his mid 20's. It makes no difference. Roy would have been a huge threat to Kov.

    Now somebody come and tell me that a prime version of Roy couldn't have found Kov.

    Please!

    Roy would have landed lead rights and left hooks easily.

    Great fight with Pascal though, I enjoyed it.

    i love kovalev and it was a great fight tonight but prime roy would beat him easily. excuses would then be made and roy would not get credit from a lot of fans.

    Pascal showed once again he is a warrior BUT as I said before the fight he hasn't beaten a top 15 fighter in 4-5 years that's a long time in your prime. You don't get better BUT Kovalev showed he could dominate Pascal and knock him out which for me makes it a good win. RJJ prime though would land with more power than Pascal at a much higher rate and if you think Kovalev got sloppy vs Pascal when he got frustrated try hitting prime RJJ cleanly without eating hard combinations.

    Segey Kovalev has heart, skill, power and chin. Walking Roy Jones Jr into the ropes isn't particulary hard. If the Krusher did that, maybe he could have done some serious damage. Roy is dangerous on the ropes, but if you stand up to him, he'll be in trouble.

    lol if we could transport Kovalev back to Roid's heyday Roid would still be fast asleep now from the brutal highlight reel KO Kovalev scored against him. And yes I think he would've caught him despite the fact that prime Roid's superhuman god-given other worldly athleticism made it literally impossible for mere mortal boxers like Kovalev and every other fighter who came before and after him to even graze his little baked bean sized head with the wind of a punch. lol

    I don't subscribe to this theory that Roy was literally Superman and was impossible to hit. Kovalev is both an absolutely savage, savage puncher (with both hands) and a very intelligent and adept technical boxer with great timing and decent speed. The argument that he wouldn't be able to catch Roy holds no weight for me I'm afraid. On the flip side, the argument that Roy couldn't catch him also holds no weight too.

    The simple difference of course being that we have seen what happens when Roid does get hit with heavy shots. Even some of his more rabid fans have accepted if Kov lands it's goodnight nurse. The imbecilic part of their opinions though is that Kov isn't capable of landing said shot, and that Roid takes him out first.

    This makes me take a look at his 175 resume, which is

    Fought 26

    Lost 5

    10 UD wins

    11 stoppage wins.

    I'd say that pretty much speaks for itself where Kov is concerned.

    I think Roy's head would literally explode upon impact from one of Kovalev's bombs. There would be bits of baked bean all over the ring lol. Roy would be in severe danger of that happening even from one of Kovalev's jabs.
