If you ask him, he is the lineal champion, he has the ring magasine title, so he is champ of the division. Guys has to come to him, and the Pascal and Kovalev was for the privilege of fighting him. And believe me, Stevenson, while being dumb as a worm, have enough intelligence to not fight Kovalev. Just forget it guys, that fight won't happen.
i was thinking about this same situation in the middle weight division. after how long does GGG become the man and the lineal titlw means nothing?
Ummmmm.....Stevenson already ducked the fight when they had a contract. Kovalev beat an undefeated titlist with 8 defenses to win his belt. Superbiitch beat a guy who'd just been KOd by a non-puncher and was 2(0)-2(2)-1 in his previous 5 fights.:rofl:rofl:rofl
sucks to say but he is the man. but it can be questioned by the end of the year if he doesnt fight Kovaelv
Doesn't really matter imo. Stevenson didn't have to fight him then, so he didn't. Now he actually has to fight him so it's a different scenario, if he ducks this fight, then Kovalev is "the man" Stevenson's opponent was more highly rated/ranked than Kovalev's opponent.
By narrowly decisioning Hopkins who narrowly decisioned Murat who was dominated by Cleverly. I just don't get triangle theory.atsch
No, ever since Kov's win vs Hopkins, it's clear who the man is at 175 I remember people laughing at Kovalev for going to HBO to chase the Adonis fight, only for Adonis to go to Showtime, where everyone assumed he would fight Bernard and Pascal. Well that didn't go over too well, did it now? Stevenson's 37 going on 38, and the longer he waits, the more his body and skill will deteriorate. If he was smart he'd fight Kovalev this year, because he ain't beating Kovalev when he's in his 40s
Lineal champ? Is that something made up by a publication? I have had several questions based on how some of those ratings have gone if its what im thinking. I rate Kovalev as the top LHW for wins over Cleverly and Hopkins. When stevenson beat Dawson, he was coming off a loss
Before Dawson faced Stevenson, he lost to Pascal, had two close fights vs Bernard, only winning once, and then was stopped by a feather fisted 168 lber Like I said, it's clear who the man at 175 is
