Doesn't really matter imo. Stevenson didn't have to fight him then, so he didn't. Now he actually has to fight him so it's a different scenario, if he ducks this fight, then Kovalev is "the man"

I remember people laughing at Kovalev for going to HBO to chase the Adonis fight, only for Adonis to go to Showtime, where everyone assumed he would fight Bernard and Pascal. Well that didn't go over too well, did it now?

Stevenson's 37 going on 38, and the longer he waits, the more his body and skill will deteriorate. If he was smart he'd fight Kovalev this year, because he ain't beating Kovalev when he's in his 40s
