Kovalev has knocked down and knocked out fighters that have much better Chins than Jones did. Kovalev showed a decent beard himself last night. Jones wasn't a puncher at 175 and Hopkins asked a good question at the end of the broadcast which was how do you keep a guy like Kovalev who is a legit savage puncher and very aggressive off you?

I don't think anyone, especially me, has ever said it was Jones's fault. What was his fault however was him claiming to be the best L / Heavy when he was holding 2 of the belts that DM had been stripped of rather than fight the guy.

Again, as far as I know, all negotiations came to an end in 2001, after the proposal of the double header had been flatly refused. Then both guys went their separate ways, and Roy signed to fight Ruiz the following year. Again, Roy entered the LHW division in November, 1996. So where's the six years?

As I have already explained the original challenge came in late 96, early 97 when Jones had won the interim title by beating MM. This might well have had something to with Jones mouthing off about going up to 175 and winning titles as early as 95. As far as the Ruiz fight is concerned that wasn't signed until at least October 2002, and probably later than that. And it occurred in the same month that Dariusz was knocking out Harmon.

That's just the opinion from Dariusz's side. But we've got quotes from HBO's Kerry Davis that say otherwise. Before you say it, Davis wouldn't have said he'd tried to have made the fight, if he hadn't. If Roy truly hadn't have wanted the fight at all, HBO would have made that clear publicly to take the heat off themselves.

So what is your contention here? That Universum, and Kohl would have said they tried for years to make a fight with Jones, if they hadn't? Jones didn't come out and SAY he didn't want the fight. His demands simply made it impossible.

I'm not sure when the Hill fight was signed, but Roy could possibly have fought him first, had he not been stupid against Griffin in their first fight.

Fact is, he didn't Dariusz did, and if Jones had any guts, or honour he would have fought the guy who beat Hill before he did, and who had been stripped of the 2 belts he gained in that fight, in the 10 months between the 2 fights.

How so?

His biggest wins were against Rochigianni, Hill, Piper, Griffin and Hall.

He cheated against Rochigianni in their first fight to get him disqualified.

His best win was against Virgil Hill in 1997.

He had a decent win over Griffin, but Roy had already iced him one two years earlier.

Stopping a guy twice in the 11th, and 10th rounds respectively is NOT having trouble with him, particularly when you are well ahead on all 3 cards at the time of stoppage.

I'm not interested in Griffin, Hill, Hall or Harmon, as both beat those guys. I am saying Rochigianni, Piper, Thadzi, in particular, and the 14 straight stoppages he scored after beating Hill, match or beat anyone Jones fought between November 96, and March 03.

Bollox. Jones resembled NOTHING like a Heavyweight in the Ruiz fight, not even a big Cruiser. He had plenty of time to lose his 8 - 10 pounds of extra weight, and even more by the time he was KTFO 6 months later.

Again I am not interested in your nonsense about Jones TALKING about fighting Holy, Tyson, Lennox or anyone else. I am interested ONLY in contracts offered and rejected.
