Pascal has the speed and explosiveness to catch Kovalev coming, Froch doesn't. Froch would have to walk through Kovalev shot's to fire back and land. Froch could do it for a while he's hard as nails but eventually he'll succumb to Kovalev's power.

Froch would make a fight of it but it's no way is it a pick'em 50/50 fight.

That's what people have been saying but he walked threw everything Pascal threw like Froch did when he fought Pascal. Kovalev's chin may not be iron but I don't think it's glass like the rumours have suggested.

In your british dreams maybe, in reality it's 80/20 fight in favor of Kovalev

The thing about Kovalev is, ignoring his power for a moment, he's an excellent technical boxer who is never impulsive and is patient and smart.

He could quite easily defeat Froch by boxing behind the jab and never engaging him in a brawl just loading on a one two.. Think the first Kessler fight, but Kovalev is sharper and has better footwork than Kessler

Froch also has a very good jab though. That first kessler fight was extremely close and we don't know how Kovalev would react to Froch's power.

I would still definitely favour Kovalev over Froch now about 70/30 and favour him over prime Froch about 60/40 or 55/45.

Froch is too slow, old, and too wreck less for Kovalev. Good luck fighting Kovalev with your hands down and looking for loopy hooks.

I have a ton of respect for Froch, and enjoyed watching him throughout his career, and maybe in his prime it would be interesting, bu now Kovalev mauls him

Not convinced Froch is that heavy handed. He certainly never hurt a lighter Pascal.

The point of the Kessler comparison was when Kessler chose to box, he looked far better than Froch. He just lacked the discipline to box and descended into brawling, whereby Froch excels.

And some people are not convinced of Kovalev's chin.

I disagree with you there. Kessler had some success when he boxed but so did Froch using his jab. I'm also not convinced it was Kessler's discipline but just the fact that Froch isn't that easy to keep off you unless you're super quick and clinch like Ward. Kovalev also lacked discipline at times vs Pascal. Like I said I still favour Kovalev but I don't think it would be easy against a prime Froch.

Prime Froch vs Prime Kovalev, Froch has a good chance. Old Froch that we have now not so much.

While a good win for Kovalev Pascal hasn't beat a top 15 fighter in 4-5 years and the Froch-Pascal fight was 7 years ago. Pascal isn't shot but he is faded.

No version of Froch is beating Kov.

Kov is better than Froch at every last single facet of boxing.

What a nightmare match for me, my two favorite current fighters, I don't want or need to see it, but if it happened Kovalev by KO although if Froch goes into beastmode in the first round like a man possessed he may land a lucky punch but even then I'm pretty sure Kovalev could take it.

Froch himself has gone on record and said he would be ineffective at 175. He toyed with the idea back when Nathan Cleverly called him out and after two weeks of training already found himself below 175- stating he would have to cut out the long endurance runs that allow him to come on strong late into the fight, and is probably his biggest weapon.

While I wouldn't write Froch off, I'd have to give Kovalev the edge- although I doubt Kovalev would KO him. (I do however strongly favour Froch over Stevenson).

Its a pity Froch didn't fight the scum when he called him out, then maybe we wouldn't have had to be plagued by his deplorable presence.
