Looked like Pascal had lkovalev thinking about going down a couple of times in round 6...I think Pascal could have hung on a little longer and put kovalev away, but i guess it was getting to that point in the fight and they didn't want kovalev to take too much more damage. Pascal had a point about the ref looking for a reason to stop the fight...he never even went down...
Sure, like you guys didn't see kovalev get shook a few times....it was a give and take. pascal landed some haymakers....and had kovalev lurching around the ring a couple of times like he was badly hurt. I was actually kind of disappointed in pascal. he didn't do a lotta things I thought he would. Maybe it was too much adrenaline...he stayed in kovalev's punching range way too much. he didn't try to set up things with the jab. after round 5 pascal seemed to be able to land on kovalev fairly easy, but never pressed the advantage...he narrowly missed some shots that would have put kovalev to sleep... hopefully he does better in the rematch.
Dude, admit it... you thought kovalev was gonna get KO'd....nothing wrong with that...we all thought pascal had him. i didn't think those last two punches deserved to end the fight...i think pascal had already showed he could recover and come back harder...maybe that was the problem.
Pascal took a severe beating Saturday night. Kudos to him for hanging in as long as he could vs one of the top 5 p4p'ers in the world.
