so, berto dropped lopez twice and the ref stopped the fight...now the same idiots who complained about that stoppage have NO PROBLEM with pascal being stopped even though he wasn't even dropped...pascal was steady on his feet with his hands up. lopez was down twice...but the pascal stoppage was justified and the berto stoppage was bad... just goes to show the bs that passes for fandom these days.

I don't have a problem with either stoppage. Both quick but there evidence was clear, both fights were near or at their end

Apples to oranges. Lopez was pretty much winning the fight until he got caught and he looked like was ok. Pascal on the other hand was way behind on the scorecards and had been battered from the first round.

 at the irony of that last sentence.

Pascal took 7.2 rounds worth of solid punishment(including getting dropped in the 3rd round and getting shaken multiple times) prior to the stoppage. When he initially got hurt by Kovalev's combination in Round 8, he was so poorly off that he was wobbling and stumbling like crazy along the ropes. It was so obvious that Kovalev literally pointed at him as if to say he had him for sure.

Lopez was actually winning his fight with Berto, hadn't taken much punishment at all to that point in the fight, and was up literally two seconds after he got dropped the second time when the ref waived the fight off. He was hurt but had none of the classic "glass eyed" look of a really hurt fighter and was clearly able to continue. I fully believe Berto would have finished Lopez anyway because there was too much time left in the round but that stoppage was bad.

Yeah I don't think the Lopez stoppage was worse than the Pascal stoppage. Similar stoppages except Lopez went down easier.

Pascal was badly hurt, he was hurt in the 3rd round and badly hurt at the end of the 7th, did not recover in the 8th, got hurt in the corner, Kovalev slipped, Pascal staggered from that corner to the other, he was clearly out on his feet, then Kovalev started to land hard punches on a defenseless Pascal. The referee saved Pascal from getting seriously hurt, if not killed...............

Yeah, after getting decked twice in 15 seconds and having a golfball for an eye...he looked peachy.
